Job Description

Black Gold Farms in Delhi, LA is seeking a Packaging Operations Manager. This position will manage all packing facility operations to ensure a quality product is packed and shipped to our customers.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Provide leadership and direction for employees by coordinating hiring, job assignment, labor productivity, and supervision.
• Manage employee labor to ensure efficiency is maximized.
• Manage the quality of the product being packed to ensure it meets our customers’ standards.
• Maintain relationships with our customers to accurately understand and anticipate their needs.
• Track inventory of product and packaging supplies on hand.
• Oversee all shipping and receiving functions of product.
• Coordinate the maintenance and operation of all packing equipment to eliminate unscheduled downtime.
• Responsible for the P&L of the operation, including managing expenses and ensuring the operation is operating profitably.
• Communicate effectively with the sales department regarding inventory levels and quality of product.
• Regularly create and deliver reports regarding the operations of the packaging facility.
• Manage the employee safety and food safety programs.
• Work with the Delhi farm manager to create crop and shipping plans.

• USDA, DOT, OSHA, FDA and other standards

Reports to: Director of Operations

Location: Delhi, LA

Salary: $85,000 – $100,000, incentive eligibility of 20%
