About the role:

• Initial responsibilities will revolve around supporting the transition & SOP creation for the quarterly tasks that the team is responsible for.
• Support EVM Operations activities at region level
• Administration activities performed by team for RELH at a global level.
• Checks to be performed at Income Statement, Capital Cost, Capital and Balance Sheet submission
• Willingness to build deep familiarity with other Accounting bases like IFRS 17
• Oversight of Out of period Adjustments (OOP) & Summary of Unadjusted Misstatements (SUM)
• Willingness to challenge status quo processes and desire to implement process improvements, enforcing an environment with uncompromising controls
• Assumption of additional projected-related responsibilities as well as ad-hoc requests from internal clients
• Challenge team to achieve a high-performance level
• Fostering an environment of high collaboration and communication
• Continuous coaching (formal / informal) across team
• Responsible for day-to-day implementation of and ensuring that overarching control structure minimizes risk across team

About the team:
The Global (Re)Insurance A&R department in Finance Reinsurance is responsible for the close process. Financial Reporting responsibility for technical P&L and Balance Sheet accounts in all economic valuations (EVM, SST, SII). Analysis of the movements, aggregation of accounting technical & business analysis and explanation to internal clients / stakeholders.
The Accounting and Closing L&H team in the Global (Re)Insurance A&R department is part of the L&H build-up in Finance Reinsurance. This marks the beginning of an exciting multi-year journey in Finance with plans to upskill and grow on the L&H area in line with the Financial Planning Subledger (FPSL) operating model where we expect to see the team to take on more responsibilities over the next years.
The team is mainly located in Zurich, Bratislava and Bangalore, and is responsible for the quarterly close process for L&H in Finance Reinsurance. The team has ownership of all sub-ledger accounting and closing activities covering all valuation bases globally and acts as the single point of contact for L&H liaising between different internal functions.
About you:

• A Masters in Finance, Actuarial, Economics, Statistics
• General understanding of L&H background with minimal experience in a Finance / Actuarial / Controlling area.
• Effective communication skills & Fluent in English, both written and Oral
• Knowledge of EVM or SII or any other economic framework would be an added plus
• Strong Microsoft Excel & Analytical Skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and lead meetings efficiently experience working in a highly professional and international environment
• Strong relationship building skill set
