Facade Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop innovative facade systems for buildings, ensuring compliance with architectural, structural, and performance requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives, design intent, and technical constraints.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate site conditions, environmental factors, and regulatory requirements affecting facade design.
• Develop detailed facade design concepts, drawings, specifications, and material selections based on project requirements and design standards.
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and building information modeling (BIM) tools to create 3D models, renderings, and construction documentation.
• Perform structural analysis and simulations to assess the structural integrity, performance, and safety of facade systems under various loading conditions.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and fabricators to procure facade materials, components, and systems and ensure their timely delivery and installation.
• Conduct design reviews, technical meetings, and site inspections to monitor progress, resolve design issues, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, contractors, and vendors throughout the design, fabrication, and construction phases.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in facade design and construction to enhance design innovation and efficiency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience in facade design and engineering, with a focus on high-rise buildings, commercial projects, or architectural facades.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and structural analysis tools (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS).
• Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to facade design, construction, and performance.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with interdisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality, accuracy, and precision in design documentation and analysis.
• Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
• Professional certification or licensure in engineering or architecture is desirable.

• Familiarity with advanced facade materials, systems, and technologies, such as glass, aluminum, composites, and dynamic facades.
