Job description 

We are looking for someone who produces high quality project design deliverables in both FF&E and construction documents. An Interior Designer lead can work on any/all phases of development including PreDesign, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration. Report to the management on tasks and deliverables and work directly with him/her to ensure the facilitation of a project’s completion; on-time, on/under-budget, and meets quality standards. 

Job Responsibility:

• Will present and lead in client tours and design interaction
• Meet with company sales representatives and clients to gather project requirements, establish project timeline, and develop project budget
• Reviews RFP and Bid specifications
• Develop creative design concepts and space plans that fulfill client requirements 
• Gather dimensions of project area and prepares accurate base drawings as needed
• Generate furniture plans with intelligent graphics on AutoCAD and/or Configura including 3D’s and elevations as required
• Generate accurate furniture specifications using Configura programs
• Develop color schemes with material and finish selections within schedule and budget requirements
• Prepare installation plans as requested
• Lead mentoring and coaching of junior and interior designers
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously, each with differing scope and products
• Participate as an organization leader related to projects, 
• Hosts design charrettes
• Will lead showroom tours
• Participate in and prepare furniture inventories as needed

Focus Area Point:

• Access to Autocad drafting
• Ability to work on google docs , google sheets , google word
• Ability to work on creating good presentations
• Photoshop ( Basic rendering )
• Canva ( For editing & generating banners )
• Sketch up ( Not essential but it would be an added skill which could benefit the team )

Our main focus for a designer is the following:

• Undertake design project from concept to completion
• Use Cloud or vendor logins to find the appropriate in budget furniture while keeping style
• Use proprietary pricing workbooks to track items, quantity, and cost. (Excel based)
• Proficient in CAD to layout spaces and show furniture design spatially. 
• Interpret and translate customer needs into rough plans
• Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection
• Communication and presentation skills
• Project management skills

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. Masters will be an added advantage.
• Certification of Interior Design Qualification 
• 2 years’ experience in the contract furniture industry preferable
• Minimum 4 years of experience
