Job Description - Management Trainee

What we are Looking for:-

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Chartered Accountant (CA) to join our Accounting Team at Gallagher & Mohan. As a rapidly growing company in the US real estate sector, we are looking for an individual with strong accounting and analytical skills and expertise in US real estate to contribute to our continued success.

Responsibilities:

  • Month-end and Year-End Financial Closing Responsibilities : Lead the month-end closing process by analyzing General Ledgers, Trial Balance and preparing all necessary journal entries, accruals, prepaids, amortization, reclasses and adjustments essential for compiling monthly financial statements.
  • Conduct Reconciliations : Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, GL and other accounts, while maintaining monthly balance sheet workpapers to track financial standing and correctness of the financials.
  • Maintain Daily Cash Logs and Monitor Balances : Keep accurate records of daily cash transactions and oversee cash balances to ensure financial stability.
  • Review Invoices for Accuracy : Scrutinize invoices to verify proper account coding and expense allocations, ensuring compliance with financial procedures and correct in case of discrepancy.
  • Analyze Operational Results : Evaluate operational outcomes and offer detailed insights into any discrepancies or variances identified during the analysis.
  • Prepare and Submit Financial Reports : Compile and submit comprehensive financial reporting packages within designated timelines to provide transparent insights into the organization's financial performance.
  • Ensure Timely Distribution of Financial Statements : Take ownership of all accounting and financial statement distribution deadlines to ensure prompt dissemination of financial information on or before the due date.
  • Manage Management Fee Billing : Prepare and present monthly management fee billing and reimbursement details for payment by property owners, maintaining accuracy and compliance throughout the process.
  • Liaise with Building Management and Owners: Act as a liaison between the organization and building management and owner representatives to address financial and operational matters effectively.
  • Assist with Budget Preparation and Forecasting : Support in the preparation and reforecasting of annual budgets, including CAM reconciliation and settlement billings for CAM, RET, and other relevant additional charges.
  • Handle Key Financial Aspects : Take responsibility for critical financial aspects of the property, including managing real estate, Federal and State tax payments to ensure compliance and financial stability.
  • Additional Duties as Assigned : Undertake any additional responsibilities or tasks delegated by management to support the smooth functioning of financial operations. 
  • Expense and Receivables Management: Oversee the management of expenses, receivables, and inter-company reimbursements to maintain financial discipline and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders : Work closely with asset ownership, property management, and construction management teams to foster collaboration and achieve common financial objectives.
  • Resolve Queries : Able to understand the queries and questions being asked by the clients, property managers, Board of Directors and third-party vendors and provide timely and suitable resolution.

Qualification:

ONLY Certified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 2-3 years of applicable experience.

Semi - Qualified CA with 3-5 years of relevant experience.

You must have:

  • Having US Real - Estate and Property Management Business model knowledge preferred.
  • Prior tenure at a top-tier accounting firm like Big4/Big6 is advantageous.
  • Demonstrates outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities, adept at task prioritization, managing concurrent projects, and meeting deadlines.
  • Possesses a robust understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Taking ownership of the work and making sure that it is completed on time and in adherence to the Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Able to function effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills is a must and adeptness in managing relationships with US clients, property managers, Board of Directors and third-party vendors.
