Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). o Capacity Creation tracking and reporting

This is a critical FBP role supporting Lead F&BM in delivering the end to end financials by working closely with Business Managers and multiple functions. The purpose of this role is to support the planning, analytics and reporting of the cost base for BUK COO Customer Care Operations. This includes monthly cost reporting, variance analysis, risks & opportunities tracking, Outlook and MTP/STP processes. The holder of this role will be required to support the production of insightful Management Information (MI) and analytics.

This role requires an ability to help support the Lead F&BM in managing key stakeholder relationships within Finance and across the business, providing valuable decision support, monitoring and challenge.  The individual will also need to maintain best in class, efficient and robust processes and systems, and look for continuous improvements opportunities within the remit of the role, driving through these improvements to completion.

• Execution & management of month end process and ensure commentary & reporting are fully consistent

• Perform regular P&L reporting, flash, insightful management reporting, and other ad-hoc reports and analysis of high complexity

• Provide insights & commentary of MoM/other variances with clear linkages to drivers 

• Support business decisions and financial strategy for the Transaction Cycle/Function, ensuring delivery is to plan and budget, supporting the bank’s overall business strategy and cost base objectives

• Lead and support during planning cycles (MTP/STP/RAF/Outlook) and budget transfers.

• Establish innovative systems and procedures for handling data & reports and strive for automations / smart solutions for continuously process improvements

• Ensure timely delivery on all deadlines/Internal reviews

• Work closely with the Lead FBP to deliver commercial insights 

• Managing the hierarchy in terms of creation, amendment, closure & rationalisation, etc.

• Supporting ad-hoc requests ensuring that we meet high standards to provide a timely response to all queries

• Ensure best in class, efficient and robust controls are adhered to at all times

• High quality, consistent and standardised offering with complete ownership of the “numbers”

What will you be doing?

Cost Review, Analytics and Ledger Closure 

o Flash Reporting - Review and analysis of Flash Results, Issuance of Flash reports to Senior FBP / BMs, by Account line/Cost Centre reviews and process necessary adjustments 

o Balance Sheet Review -  Review of all accruals and prepayments, provisions

o Month-end commentaries and reporting, self-assessment of controls and liaise with internal / external stakeholders

Planning and Outlook 

o    Manage planning and outlook process liaising with Senior FBP and BMs 

o    Prepare planning, outlook templates and related management information for review with BMs/FBPs

o    Monitoring and highlighting the risk and opportunities

o    Support Group and Central teams on the overall MTP/STP exercise

Management Reporting and Insights

o    Lead performance review within the Finance FTCs, analysing, provide insights, commentary and interpreting financial information, and advising/challenging and supporting the team leaders in improving the financial control and reporting environment.

o    Resolve queries and ad-hoc requests by BMs / lead FBPs / Leads / AEs

o    Review and analyse complex financial reports and financial statements analysis and present the same to the management.

o    Produce accurate, timely and reliable MI reports (EXCO, adhoc reports, forecast and budget)

o    Drive the rationalization, standardization, centralization and control of all MI reports within the suite

o    Update and improve reports (in line with business objectives) focusing on scalability, efficiency and effectiveness

Liaise with Functions / BMs and Central teams on reporting hierarchy creation and changes

o    Liaise with various teams to ensure changes are reflected in the Finance hierarchy systems

Projects / Transformation 

•    Provide active support in executing Cost Transformation Projects within Cost FTC

Hierarchy & Reference data management

o    Good understanding of Barclays systems and cost landscape, data flows, ledger interfaces

o    Ability to analyse and visualize end reporting requirements into structural changes in reference data systems for strategic implementation

o    Track record of completing business analysis assignments (business requirements gathering & testing)

o    Proficiency on reference data management tools like DRM, RDM, Sap Static, BW, databases

• CA / MBA / ACA / CIMA / and good accounting knowledge

• Strong analytical skills, able to identify key P&L drivers

• FP&A background and experience (experience in direct costs, indirect cost management and reporting) an advantage

• Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills

• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator 

• Willingness and ability to take ownership of issues and manage through to a successful resolution

• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills

• Ability to balance multiple critical requests from various stakeholders with outstanding precision

• Ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels and geographies of the organization

• Expresses thoughts and ideas in a structured and logical way

• Communication, influencing and negotiating skills with a record of working with Senior stakeholders

• Experience in operating in a multi-geographic, matrix organisation a plus, with proven ability to balance commercial, client, and regulatory needs across businesses and geographies
