Job Description:

As a Senior Fashion Designer specializing in knits, you will play a pivotal role in driving the creative direction of our knitwear collections. You will work closely with the design team, collaborating on the conception, development, and execution of knit designs that align with our brand identity and resonate with our target audience. Your expertise in knitwear design will be instrumental in shaping our product offerings and maintaining our position as a market leader.

Key Responsibilities:

Conceptualize and develop innovative knitwear designs that reflect current fashion trends and market demands.

Create sketches, tech packs, and detailed design specifications for knit garments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.

Research and identify emerging trends, materials, and techniques relevant to knitwear design, and integrate them into our collections.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, sourcing, and merchandising, to ensure seamless execution of design concepts from concept to production.

Lead fit sessions and provide constructive feedback to ensure the quality and fit of knit garments meet brand standards and customer expectations.

Oversee sample development and prototype creation, ensuring timely completion and adherence to design specifications.

Maintain awareness of market competition and consumer preferences to inform design decisions and product development strategies.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, fostering their growth and development within the organization.

Uphold brand aesthetics and design integrity across all knitwear collections, maintaining consistency and cohesiveness in product offerings.

Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop effective strategies for promoting and selling knitwear collections, including participating in presentations and showroom events as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field; additional certification in knitwear design is a plus.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fashion design, with a focus on knitwear design preferred.
• Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in knitwear design, including sketches, tech packs, and finished product samples.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other design software.
• In-depth knowledge of knitwear construction, techniques, and fabrications.
• Excellent understanding of fashion trends, color theory, and textile development.
• Strong creative vision and ability to translate concepts into commercially viable designs.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead design initiatives.
• Detail-oriented with a keen eye for quality and craftsmanship.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude and fostering a collaborative team culture.
