About the role:
This role will be responsible for developing automated testing for new and existing products and capabilities on the core platform. The platform is complex and therefore presents a fantastic opportunity to learn about embedded payments and payments facilitation.
About the team:
We are a passionate, global team of payments and software experts who provide vertical software companies with an all-in-one platform and a white-glove approach, to capitalize on the opportunities within embedded payments for growth, innovation, and transformation. Our clients are leading vertical software providers that want to make their products stickier and grow revenue by offering payment solutions to their end customers. The Test Engineering and Quality Assurance Team manages the test automation and functional testing for the core products at Payrix.
What you will be doing?
- Build and deliver high-quality functional tests and automated tests using testing frameworks on time
- Develop high-quality test code in support of product releases owned by Product Management
- Identify existing problems with testing and improve the platform’s tests to make it more maintainable, scalable, and resilient.
- Collaborate across teams and time zones, review test code, and give constructive feedback
- Work with engineers across the company to understand how to better test our software and ensure high-quality delivery without extensive manual testing.
- Work with members of your team to execute against both short and long-term roadmaps, making effective trade-offs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a maintainable technical foundation
What you will need:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of training, education, and work experience
- 6+ years of automated software testing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, clarity of communication when discussing technical concepts
- Experience with all or most of the following:
- Testing cloud-native applications(AWS Preferred), developing functional tests and automating them alongside.
- Exposure to writing tests in TypeScript/JavaScript or similar scripting languages
- Experience in developing automated test scenarios for Web and API applications with Selenium, Playwright or Cucumber
- Knowledge of BDD / TDD practices and experience with these approaches in the past
- Strong understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery concepts with tools like Gitlab
- Strong experience in using RESTful APIs
- Take ownership of your work, follow best practices, hold yourself and others accountable
- Be highly motivated and self-sufficient, with excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Bonus if you have:
- Fintech or payments/banking testing or development
- Testing of dynamically typed programming languages (PHP preferred)
- AWS cloud, PHP language, Codeception, Laravel and/or Phalcon frameworks
- Exposure to testing applications built in C# is preferred
- Working in a Tech Startup
