You will t ake charge of the entire product development lifecycle, including design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and implementation Requirements Ability to create mathematical models to conduct FEA & build complex static and dynamic physics simulations. CAD software proficiency, preferably Solidworks, in 2D & 3D design. Expertise in machine design, especially energy storage (springs) & transmission systems. Design for reliability, including accelerated life cycle testing parameters. DFM & manufacturing knowledge in plastics (Injection Molding & Vacuum Casting) & metals (sheet metal & machining). Required Skills: Systems thinking to develop architectures & perform system-level force calculations. First-principles problem-solving for root cause analysis and action. Familiarity with compliant mechanics, kinematics, & design of experiments. Experience working with materials like plastics, rubber, metal, and composites. Attention to detail in design, analysis, & documentation. Thorough documentation skills from CAD files to testing reports and calculations. Research-driven mindset for implementing findings from papers & new products. Offer technical mentorship to junior engineers & cross-functional team members. Monitor emerging tech and propose innovations for better products. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work with industrial design and manufacturing teams. Good to Have Skills: Hands-on experience in prototyping & 3D printing. Application engineering skills to identify & select various COTS items. Experience in scaling organizations and setting up processes. Basic project management skills including goal setting, scheduling, progress tracking, and budget management. Qualifications 4-5 years of relevant experience in product design. Hiring Process Initial 10-minute screening call. Assignment to assess skills and capabilities.
