Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement, including the procurement of medicines, vendor management, ensuring availability of medicines, team management, and proficient handling of numerical data related to discount and margin calculations. The Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient procurement of medicines while maintaining high standards of quality and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

Procurement of Medicines:

• Identify and procure necessary medicines and pharmaceutical supplies to meet the organization's requirements.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical products, including their uses, dosage forms, and availability.

Vendor Management:

• Establish and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical vendors.
• Negotiate favorable rates and terms with suppliers to optimize procurement costs.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of medicines and resolve any supply-related issues.

Availability of Medicines and Fill Rate Ownership:

• Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of essential medicines.
• Take ownership of fill rate targets and implement strategies to achieve and maintain optimal fill rates.

Team Management:

• Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals.
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to enhance their performance and professional development.

Numerical Proficiency and Margin Calculations:

• Utilize strong numerical skills to analyze pricing structures, discounts, and margins.
• Conduct thorough cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies in procurement processes.

Desired Skills and Expertise:

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 4+ years of Proven experience in procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
• Previous experience in team management and leadership roles.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as Microsoft Excel and procurement management systems.
