Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Proofpoint Enterprise Security Specialist to join our Information Security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, management, and maintenance of Proofpoint's advanced threat protection solutions to safeguard our organization's email and digital communication channels from cyber threats. This role requires a deep understanding of email security protocols, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementation and Configuration
  • Deploy and configure Proofpoint Email Security solutions, including Proofpoint Threat Protection, Targeted Attack Protection (TAP), and Email Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
  • Customize policies and rules to align with the organization's security posture and compliance requirements.
• Monitoring and Incident Response
  • Monitor email traffic and security alerts to identify and respond to potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Investigate and analyze security incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for remediation.
• Threat Intelligence and Analysis
  • Utilize Proofpoint's threat intelligence tools to stay informed about the latest email-borne threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct regular threat assessments and provide insights to enhance the organization's email security strategy.
• Maintenance and Support
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and maintenance to ensure the optimal performance of Proofpoint solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for email security-related issues.
• Training and Awareness
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on email security best practices and the proper use of Proofpoint solutions.
  • Create awareness materials and conduct phishing simulation exercises to enhance the organization's security culture.
• Reporting and Documentation
  • Generate and present regular reports on email security metrics, incidents, and trends to stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident response actions.

• Technical Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of email security protocols (SMTP, DMARC, DKIM, SPF) and technologies.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).
  • Proficiency in threat intelligence analysis and incident response.
• Certifications
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Proofpoint-specific certifications are a plus.
• Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other email security solutions and cybersecurity tools.
• Knowledge of cloud security and experience with cloud email platforms like Office 365 or G Suite.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
