POSITION STATEMENT

The Engineering Executive is in-charge of the monitoring and controlling of all mechanical, electrical, and plant operations of the hotel during the shift period, the execution of preventive maintenance scheme, the execution of the works order control system, and the supervision of subordinates.

POSITION SUMMARY

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clearly describes standards to staff
• Constantly compares performance to standards
• Leads the shift team
• Logs specific incidents among personnel
• Grades priorities and prepares daily to-do list for the shift
• Monitors and controls shift attendance for the shift
• Monitors working condition of all E&M plant of the hotel
• Updates on latest information from log books and service reports
• Ensures fast E&M reaction to emergencies such as fire alarm, lift trapping, etc.
• Executes the work order control system
• Ensures continuous improvement and development of work order control system
• Assists in carrying out the preventive maintenance scheme
• Assists in carrying out the Energy conservation and Safety program
• Assists in monitoring and recording of utility consumption
• Responsible for certain plant/equipment/systems assigned by the Chief Engineer/ Assistant Chief Engineer
• Analyses training needs
• Ensures fire protection systems responsiveness and efficacy
• Coordinates engineering support as required in hotel emergency procedures immediately
• Participate in hotel activities concerning the protection of the environment
• Promotes, upholds and applies practices aligned to the environmental thrusts of the Hotel
• Makes oneself aware to the energy conservation and safety program of the hotel
• Endeavors to promote goodwill and create a pleasant atmosphere amongst fellow Team Member
• Complies with hotel’s rules and regulations including but not limited to Hilton’s company-wide policies.
• Sets an example on attendance and punctuality including high standard of personal grooming and hygiene.
• Exercises responsible management and behavior at all times, positively representing the hotel as Hilton Ambassadors.
• Attends training sessions and meetings as and when required.
• Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Performs other duties subject to review and revision of this job description and on management discretion from time to time.
• The management reserves its right to move, transfer or re-assign team members from their accustomed shift or schedule, job function and department as business dictates.  Likewise, Team Members may also be task to assist other departments or other Hilton properties on task force when necessary and when business demands. 

What are we looking for? 

An Engineering Executive serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow: 

• Minimally a junior college graduate with basic communication skills in English. 
• At least 3 years of working experience in the same position or 5 years supervisor experience in a 4-star or above hotel.  
• Knowledge of both hotel’s electrical and mechanical knowledge required. 
• Familiar with hotel engineering equipment, maintenance and repair. 
• Strong communication and coordination skills. 
• Strong experience of guestroom repair and maintenance system. 
• Knowledge of audio-visual system, lighting system, security monitoring system, background music system, satellite system, telephone system and fire alarm system.  
• Strong background of hotel Kitchen, Laundry, Swimming Pool, Pipe and Health Club equipment repair and maintenance. 
• Strong fire control knowledge with thorough knowledge of hotel fire / life safety systems and equipment.
