Function Overview

The GIC Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations, encompassing planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and analytics. They strategically plan to meet market demands, optimize sourcing, ensure efficient production, and oversee the seamless movement of goods from production to delivery. The team employs advanced analytics throughout these processes, fostering adaptability and operational excellence. This collaborative approach ensures a well-coordinated supply chain that aligns with both organizational goals and dynamic market conditions.

Purpose of the role

A sound professional with supply chain expertise, mathematical skills, ability to manage data, who can analyze and develop solutions for inbound supply chain with the goal of improving the efficiency and effectiveness in this area. The incumbent is expected to work in the capacity of an individual contributor in a challenging business environment. This virtual team caters to 30+ plants and several business teams / groups in the US.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

65% of the time

• Work collaboratively with stakeholders & plants located in the US
• I dentify gaps / challenges in the inbound supply chain and develop solutions to plug the gaps & mitigate service risk on raw materials thereby efficiency effectiveness of the network   
• Work closely with small and mid-size plants (plants with material codes ranging from 300 to 1500, multiple RM replenishment strategies, Manageable RM supply risk, Moderate write off risk and working capital, Moderate space constraints and manageable operational)
• Work on analytics to set up optimal Order parameters for raw materials to ensure efficient and effective Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
• Monitor the health of inbound supply chain at a location and facilitate / co-ordinate with diverse groups / teams to provide comprehensive solutions that would enable smooth flow of raw materials in the inbound supply chain and ensure their availability at the plants
• Identify root cause of issues surfacing in the inbound supply chain & develop solutions to mitigate supply risk
• Share insights for material supply escalations at the given location / plant
• Discuss / prioritize chronic issues with locations – Vendor, Transportation, Sourcing, Escalations, Material set up, Planning etc.
• Planning parameters health check
• Share progress on resolution of issues with the locations
• Develop / review inventory recommendations and targets (DOS, Safety Stock, Drivers of inventory etc.)
• Design / develop holistic inbound networks to reduce risk, reduce material cost, optimize loads and improve plant’s agility
• Develop optimal replenishment and inventory strategies for raw materials
• Supply chain risk assessment.
• Work out cost of various strategies to facilitate improved decision making
• Identify opportunities & develop solutions to bring efficiencies to the process

20% of the time - Provide Material Disruption Leadership

·       Facilitate expedited materials through the Material Disruption Recovery (MDR) process that engages resources who are most able to help. 

·       Coordinate the plan to secure needed materials, including working with alternate suppliers, expediting transportation, or reviewing PO-level commitments.

·       Support Materials Business Lead, Buyers, etc. on Recovery management.

·       Communicate disruption recovery updates to cross functional stakeholders (e.g. plants, planning, sourcing, OU supply chain teams, etc.).

·       Coordinate actions to recover from interruptions, driving improved delivery times. 

·       Minimize impact of potential material supply disruptions.

·       Participate in root cause analysis efforts to minimize future disruption of the supply chain.

·       Identify and offer solutions for recurring issue resolution.

· Proficient at generating and manipulating SAP reports and interpreting data in Excel.

TECHNICAL AND SOFT SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

·       Ability to gather, visualize and analyze data

·       Ability to translate data into actionable information

·       Basic Excel manipulation and analysis skills (i.e., skilled at Vlookup, pivot table, charts / graphs)

·       Ability to execute, multi-task and deliver on commitments

·       Can prioritize and complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines

·       Experience of working with SAP – MM Module

·       Good understanding of Supply Chain concepts

·       Good mathematical skills

·       Continuous improvement mindset

·       Proactive and solution oriented approach & c ritical thinking ability to understand granularity of the situation / problem

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education – Full time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered)
• Minimum 4 years of related experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Education – Full time Masters from an accredited university
• 5 years of relevant experience
