JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Assistant Manager – Cargo Flow

Department : Cargo Flow

Reporting To : Manager Cargo flow

Location : Mumbai

Short Brief on role:

The position will report to the Manager – Manage the service independently, close co-ordination & Follow up with HO Line, local Trade / commercial team & Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Line Co- ordination

• Capacity Management of main line services.
• Keeping track of Daily booking forecasts basis the cargo readiness report and Trade forecasts
• Escalation point between Port operation & Commercial Team & HO Cargo Flow
• Providing guidelines on daily basis to the Commercial Team in order to manage cargo / commercial capacity on the vessel and avoid any physical shut out / rollovers in the terminal.
• Responsibility of optimizing the vessel space.
• Ensure Zonal space allocation is maintained to the correct level , agreeing corrective action and ensuring the allocation is completed as per HO instruction.
• Acting as a relationship manager with both internal and external clients / customers i.e. HO, Local Commercial & Operations and Cargo Readiness Teams.
• Responsibility of handling MIS and weekly reports

2. Feeder Co- ordination

• Co – coordinating with Feeder operator regarding booking the space of units.
• Negotiation on feeder rate for laden / empty loadings
• Maintaining Feeder’s Vendor Rates file as per the regions.
• Support commercial / sales functions for procuring additional space on 3PF vessels.
• Trouble shoot any issue regarding any discrepancy in rates or quantity with Vendor
• Monthly report and Graphical Analysis for Feeder ports cost & revenue

Key Performance Standards:

• Line / Ops / Trade Coordination. (Refer Key Responsibilities)
• Feeder / Mainline utilization / Optimization.
• Data Analysis and Training

Requirements And Specific Skills:

• 5-7 years of experience in shipping industry, preferably in Operations and / or commercial.
• Good Communication Skills.
