Job Description - Claims Handler (Landside Claims)

Supports the execution of ERM within a Business Unit and cooperates
with the Risk Management function on arranging insurance, handling
associated claims, loss prevention and incident management within a
limited area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities

1. Manage and process insurance claims for  freight service liability, property damage, and liability claims.

2. Analyze claim documents, assess liability and coverage under the global insurance program, and determine appropriate course of action.

3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information for claims processing.

4. Prepare and submit accurate and timely claims reports.

5. Monitor claims status and provide updates to relevant parties as necessary.

6. Identify trends and patterns in claims data to improve processes and mitigate risks.

7. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.

8. Maintain accurate records of claims activities and documentation.

Required qualification, experience  & skills

1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field.

2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance claims management, preferably in the maritime or logistics industry.

3. Solid understanding of insurance policies and claims processes.

4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.

7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Required Business/ Technical Knowledge

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of insurance claims processes, particularly in property claims, liability claims, and claims related to freight service liability . This role requires a strong analytic mindset, exceptional reporting skills, and a general understanding of insurance and insurance claims processes.
