Job Description - Operations Handover

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the systematic handover of commissioned systems from the project phase to operations.
  • Collaborate with project management, engineering, and operations teams to align handover plans with project timelines.
  • Analyze process parameters and implement optimization strategies during the commissioning phase to achieve targeted production rates and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to fine-tune operational parameters for efficiency and energy consumption.
  • Establish protocols for real-time troubleshooting and diagnostics during commissioning and start-up.
  • Lead the resolution of technical issues, utilizing root cause analysis techniques and coordinating with engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate the commissioning of safety systems, including emergency response protocols, fire suppression systems, and safety monitoring equipment.
  • Ensure that safety measures are integrated seamlessly into the potline commissioning process.
  • Oversee the verification and acceptance processes for all commissioned systems, ensuring alignment with design specifications and operational requirements.
  • Develop protocols for systematic testing, documentation, and validation of each operational component.
  • Develop and implement logistics plans for the efficient movement of materials and equipment during commissioning.
  • Search out and implement methods to reduce costs or increase productivity without impairing the performance of the department.
  • Plan labor, material and equipment requirements and make these requirements available in time and in the appropriate form.
  • Carry out routine inspection of the assigned sections for comprehensive supervision looking for anything that is abnormal requiring attention.
  • Lead the development of start-up procedures, encompassing the gradual initiation of equipment and systems to achieve operational stability.
  • Establish protocols for real-time troubleshooting and diagnostics during commissioning and start-up.
  • Provide ongoing support to the operations team post-handover, addressing any operational challenges or uncertainties.
  • Facilitate a feedback loop between the operations team and the project and engineering teams for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and legal safety regulations, as well as industry standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to safety protocols.
  • All audits related to quality. SAP, MIS & MES.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for personnel involved in commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with training teams to ensure all employees are adequately prepared for safe operations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the potline facilities, equipment, and work areas.
  • Perform safety audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement in quality system of ISO-9001, ISO-1400 and OHSAS-18001

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.E. (Mech/EEE/E&I) with 10-15 years of experience.
  • Analytical Skills
  • Communication with internal and external customers
  • Certification in relevant safety programs (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards applicable to potline operations.
  • Proper Communication / action during contingency
