Job Description - Operations Manager

JOB ROLE: ROBOT FLEET OPERATIONS MANAGER

Role Overview:

As the Robot Fleet Operations Manager at Solinas, you will be responsible for the strategic management and optimization of our robotic fleet deployed across various projects within the water and sanitation industry. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the efficient deployment, maintenance, and performance of our robotic assets to meet project requirements and drive operational excellence, overseeing unique projects tailored to each client's requirements. You will also be responsible for understanding client needs, setting up Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), tracking project progress, implementing new methodologies, and ensuring successful project commissioning and closure. Additionally, you will be instrumental in maintaining strong customer relationships to secure recurring contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

> Operations Management:

  • Plan and coordinate day-to-day activities, including tracking inspections, resolving equipment-related issues, and arranging logistics for field teams.
  • Develop and implement processes for efficient project execution, including process updates and improvements as needed.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules, making adjustments as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Plan and arrange suitable teams tailored to project specifications and geographic considerations, optimizing resource allocation.

> Fleet Management and Logistics:

  • Oversee maintenance and allocation of the fleet, promptly addressing any damage or loss incurred during operations.
  • Utilize smart planning and quick decision-making to optimize fleet deployment and logistics, ensuring project timelines are met.
  • Strategically analyze project requirements to determine specific robot and equipment needs for efficient inspections.

> Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage diverse teams across 10 cities in India, providing guidance, support, and training.
  • Foster a culture of problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making within the team.
  • Act as a bridge between the Research & Development (R&D) team, Business Development (BD) team, and Manufacturing team to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.

> Project Management:

  • Understand client requirements and translate them into actionable project plans.
  • Set up Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and track progress accordingly.
  • Implement new methodologies and best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee project commissioning and closure processes, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.

> Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Gather customer feedback and incorporate it into project improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling or securing recurring contracts based on client needs and project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in commissioning/installing machinery and devices, sensor/electronics installation, or related sectors.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience managing diverse teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in project management and operations management is highly desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
