Job Description - Quality Engineer

Process Technology is a global leader, US-based company focused on designing and manufacturing cutting-edge thermal and power conversion equipment that makes tomorrow’s products possible. Our company is a global sales organization with facilities based in Mentor and Willoughby, Ohio; Amery, Wisconsin; Monterrey, Mexico; and Noida, India. We are looking for a skilled Quality Engineer to join our team and ensure the quality of our products meets both internal standards and customer expectations. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting product tests, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing Part Qualification documents (e.g., First Article Inspection, Gage R&R, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, capability study, control plan, process validation)
  • Developing and implementing quality standards
  • Monitoring, analyzing, reporting, and communicating quality metrics and performance.
  • Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Providing incoming, in-process, and final inspection support
  • Conducting quality inspection, including the use of measurement tools and sampling plans
  • Preparing Quality reports
  • Assisting with continual improvement activities (e.g., 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.)
  • Leading teams through problem identification, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Utilizing Quality tools (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone diagrams, process mapping)
  • Investigating and troubleshooting product, process, or production issues
  • Conducting supplier audits and supporting supplier development, validation, and supplier quality.
  • Ensuring timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions
  • Developing requirements for quality inspection of incoming material from suppliers
  • Facilitating the completion of Supplier Corrective Action Request and Vendor Quality Notices from suppliers
  • Monitoring outside service contractors’ capabilities
  • Providing guidance to inspectors in scheduling department priorities
  • Participating in engineering design reviews and providing inputs
  • Conducting quality training programs for production personnel
  • Performing gap analysis to update procedures and documentation.
  • Understanding and capability to work with calibration programs.
  • Conducting internal and supplier audits within an ISO-9001 environment, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports, and determining proper corrective and preventive actions
  • Performing other essential duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3- 5 years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in quality, electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering
  • CQE, ASQ certification or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, familiar with GD&T
  • Proficiency in using plate inspection tooling (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
  • Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts (process capability calculation, probability, etc.)
  • Strong visual and tactile skills
  • Experience in drafting reports and collating data.
  • Proficient in analyzing and interpreting technical information.
  • Strong Microsoft suite and analytical skills.
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop.
  • Ability to work and communicate within the organization at all levels, including leadership.
  • Ability to travel (valid passport).
  • Customer service and ability to work collaboratively.
  • High degree of independence & integrity.
  • Attention to detail.

Languages: Fluent English language skills are necessary
