Senior Business Analyst

Role Overview : The JDE Senior Analyst is a strategic global IT role that builds and manages the JDE ERP system on which we depend. We have have invested in JDE to create a common ERP system used throughout the company. JDE is fundamental to the company and needs to be continuously developed to drive the company's future and operational excellence. This role is a critical driver of this strategy and the company's performance. The role takes ownership of the ERP application by eliciting, analyzing and validating the business needs and defining the system requirements to meet those objectives.Responsibilities- Business Analysis You develop an understanding of our business processes and how they relate to the JDE system and associated systems/interfaces.- You act as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team by capturing and prioritizing the user requirements. - You elicit these business requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, business analysis and workflow analysis.- You maintain the relevant user processes flows and documentation, including Business- Requirements Document, Process Flows, use cases and Interface designs.- You are tasked with creating both system testing and user acceptance testing cases to assess whether the delivered solution aligns with the defined requirements.- Create reports to monitor business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.- You identify and recommend improvements to existing processes based on industry best practices and current technology trends.2. Solution Architecture and Design :- You own the JDE system functions for Manufacturing & Supply Chain including Work Order processing, Bill of Materials & Routing, Quality, Sales Order Processing, Advanced Pricing, Transportation, EDI and Procurement.- You collaborate with developers (internal and external) and other subject matter experts to establish the technical vision that meets the user requirements.- You analyze the trade-offs between the usability and technical performance needs of the different technical options to deliver the user requirements.- You recommend the proposed solution.- You design a technical vision that adheres to our security policies.3. Solution Delivery, Testing and Training :- You successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously. These include taking ownership/leadership of distinct ERP projects, supporting developers (internal and external) in managing their projects and delivering the solution designed by answering questions and clarifying requirements.- You coordinate and test system modifications.- You develop and deliver training on new system features to IT and business users.- You ensure system documentation is current.- You act as the 3 rd line of defence regarding JDE, and you respond to user issues related to processes and applications using tools and vendor support sites and working with developers.4. Best practice and compliance :- You ensure that IT activities are within the limits of good practice and applicable regulations.- You keep up to date with the latest IT trends, developments, and best practices.- You ensure data is handled, transferred, or processed according to secure, legal and company guidelines.Job Competencies :1. Plans and aligns: after gathering business needs and requirements, your role is to prioritize them and create an improvement plan to achieve organizational goals.5. Manages expectations: you manage users and stakeholders' expectations because invariably not all user requirements can be satisfied simultaneously. In addition, you'll need to manage the trade-off between the business ideal solution and technical feasibility.Decision making :- You have the authority to make the technical decision on how a certain user need and requirement will be delivered via the developer team.- You can prioritize the different business requirements according to what delivers the most value for us.Technical Knowledge and Skills :- Advanced understanding of business analysis processes and methodologies, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. - Can easily use any of the business analysis and requirement capturing tools, such as Visio and JIRA.- Advanced understanding of JDE solution design and architecture.- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.- Strong project management skills required.- In-depth understanding of testing frameworks and tools.Position Requirements : Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or other related field. Experience : 10+ years of relevant, hands-on, professional experience in a global heterogeneous technical environment. IT Skills : 10+ years JDE E1 experience.
