In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.

Process Overview

This role is part of Enterprise Independent Testing – GBAM Testing.  Within this process, this testing role would be part of the Global Markets (GM) Testing team. The group is responsible for:

Providing quality assurance around operations key control processes and high-risk processes as defined in the Single process inventory.  Providing an independent assessment of control and risk issues for senior management Embedding a risk awareness culture.

Job Description

We are looking to recruit an individual with strong capital markets product experience and a detailed understanding of the Markets operations and Independent Operational Risk & Control team, based in India and part of EIT Testing team. The role has a global reach with many of the deliverables requiring global collaboration across multiple lines of business and asset classes.

The individual is responsible for:

  • Providing quality assurance around Global Markets operations key control processes as defined by the Single process inventory
  • Providing an independent testing and assessment of control and risk issues for senior management
  • Perform governance routines to support the QA inventory
  • Understand the front to back flow of key processes and determine key areas requiring testing
  • Ensure documentation is being maintained in accordance with the processes and standards set out
  • Work closely with LOB partners to understand processes and risks
  • Take ownership for managing risk well and be proactive in identifying and controlling risks, issues and concern. Track and highlight issues, gaps, concerns and process failures for remediation
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner

Responsibilities

GM EIT team is a very dynamic and evolving function with a significant transformational element.

Manages Risk Act in accordance with the letter and spirit of all applicable laws, rules and regulations, the company’s code of conduct, risk framework, risk appetite statement and other relevant policies, standards, procedures and guidance.    Quality Assurance identify where there are high inherent operational risks embedded within a business process, and measure, evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of the related controls to determine whether action is needed to mitigate operational risk. Stakeholder Management : - Understands the importance of relationships; proactively builds, maintains, and uses key relationships to build trust/credibility and promote objectives. Demonstrates long-term commitment to business success by offering alternative points of view and challenging assumptions with constructive input, when appropriate Demonstrates Initiative: - Be proactive in identifying, escalating and debating thematic risks issues. Foster debate of risks and strive for outcomes that support the long-term interests of the company and its stakeholders.  Create an environment that encourages and requires these behaviours from others Operates as a Trusted Partner:- Sought after by business partners for advice, insight and perspective, balancing subject matter expertise and relationship management skills to build trust and credibility. Demonstrates personal credibility by adjusting interpersonal style (e.g., leadership, influence, communication styles) to the situation Drive Risk Culture :- Promote a culture aimed at minimizing the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems or from external events

Requirements

  • Education - Post-Graduation / Chartered Accountant / M.B.A
  • Experience Range – 4-5 years in Global Market Operations, with preferably 2 years in Business Control/ QA based roles
  • Foundational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills
  • Ability to work across business groups and in a team environment.
  • Global Markets Product Knowledge
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to lead and drive change
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills.
  • High sense of urgency with ability to drive results.
  • Demonstrable evidence of stakeholder management.
  • Effective multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to handle diverse workload and tight schedules.

    • Self-starter, able to establish relationships and transcend multiple cross-functional/divisional boundaries, largely unaided

Work Timings - 11:30 AM – 8:30 PM (candidate to be flexible with work timings)
