The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Food Industry Capacity & Skill Initiative (FICSI) are creating a skilling ecosystem for master trainers of millet processing in Jharkhand. FICSI is the Sector Skill Council for Food Processing under the Governments flagship Skill India initiative. The training will be provided free of cost. Upon completion, candidates will not be eligible for an employment by FICSI but will be empanelled to offer services on contractual basis.
Position : Trainer
Role and responsibilities
As a trainer, you will be crucial in delivering engaging and informative training sessions to various participants, including workers, members of self-help groups, and farmers in Jharkhand. The detailed responsibilities are as follows:

To be considered as a Trainer/master trainer, you must meet the following criteria:
Assessment & certification
After training, the candidates will be assessed and empanelled by FICSI on the Skill India portal, making them eligible to offer services in Jharkhand and other states.
Selection process
Based on interviews, candidates will be finalised by a panel of experts drawn from NIT Rourkela and FICSI.
Guidelines for the Training
The document outlines the minimum requirements for individuals aspiring to become Trainers through the Training of Trainer (ToT) Programs, respectively, as part of our commitment to Skill India.
Trainer Requirements:
i. A trainer is expected to conduct a minimum of 10 and 20 days of training (including Saturday & Sunday) in a year, respectively, to maintain the validity of the Skill India certificate.
ii. Candidates with more than 3 years of experience after graduation are eligible for Skill India Master Trainer certification, while those with less than 3 years of experience qualify for Skill India Trainer certification.
iii. Following the completion of the training, FICSI will conduct an online assessment. Certification will be granted upon successful completion of the assessment.
iv. Trainers are eligible to conduct batches across India under FICSI-affiliated training programs on a freelance basis. Compensation details can be found in point iii.
These minimum requirements and conditions will help maintain the quality and relevance of the training programs offered under the Skill India initiative. Guidelines for the training
1. The training spans 5 days, featuring a 3-day residential program at NIT Rourkela in June 2024 and an additional 2 days of online training, allowing flexibility for participants to join from any location.
Details of 3-Days Batches scheduled at NIT Rourkela:
a. 7th June 2024 to 9th June 2024; Online 11th to 12th June 2024
b. June 14th to June 16th 2024; Online 18th to 19th June 2024
2. The training is free of cost, and FICSI also covers accommodation and meals for the candidates who will stay at the guest house. Participants will be offered double-occupancy lodging at the NIT Rourkela Campus Guest House (subject to availability). Meals outside the canteen or mess will incur additional charges, and participants are responsible for covering these out-of-pocket expenses.
3. All candidates will receive a travel allowance, covering either bus fare or train expenses, with a maximum reimbursement cap. This is contingent upon the submission of ticket copies as proof. The candidate is responsible for booking their tickets.
4. Candidates must pay security to secure enrollment and confirm commitment to attending the scheduled training. As part of this process, a security deposit of Rs 1000 must be paid to the Food Industry Capacity and Skill Initiative (FICSI). It will be refunded on the completion of training.
