We are hiring for the role of a Sr. Automation Engineer with 5-10 years of experience for a Global Infrastructure company.Position Summary :Reporting to the Manager, Global Operations, Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer is responsible for the design and development of automation solutions for the IT Infrastructure team. The Senior Automation Engineer will work closely with the Infrastructure Operations Team to understand the business requirements and develop automation solutions to meet those requirements. The Senior Automation Engineer will be expected to be able to work independently and collaboratively to develop automation scripts, implement automation tools, and maintain automation systems.As part of the broader Global Services team, this person will work with Infrastructure Operations team inside and outside of Bain to provide world-class services in a friendly and supportive manner. This role will be proactive and focused on monitoring systems, troubleshooting problems, and responding to incidents, events, queries and requests. The fast pace of change in IT Infrastructure & Cloud technologies requires this person to be innately curious, quick to learn, devoted to best practices, and results-driven. Essential Functions :- Design and develop automation solutions using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform and ServiceNow. - Collaborate with infrastructure operations teams to identify and prioritize areas (events, incidents, processes) to deploy remediation, assisted, diagnostic and RPA automation.- Scripting and working with APIs- For example, tasks could include automating app secret rotations in Azure or streamlining warranty renewal processes for servers using available Dell APIs primarily using PowerShell & Python. - 50% : Debug, maintain and troubleshoot automation issues, identify root cause and implement solutions. - 20% : Participate in managing day-to-day operations of cloud infrastructure environments, including performance management, monitoring, and assessment of metrics. Handson for Deployments, Templates, Networking, Config, upgrades, App Gateway services, API, CI/CD Pipelines - 10% : Work with business units on new deployments, issues, and improvements to existing services: assist development teams with integrations and identity enablement for SaaS or custom products; deploy IaaS and PaaS infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or GCP using Terraform, Ansible, or another Infrastructure-as-Code tooling. L1/L2 support for : - Cloud - VMware, Nutanix , VxRail , DC Operations- Server Life Cycle Management (Build/QA/Decomm)- VDI/AVD Support (Citrix/Azure AVD)- Infrastructure Cleanup (On Prem, Cloud)- Backup, Storage and DR Ops (Veeam, Druva, ASR, Zerto, Rubrik)- Windows, Linux Patching for On Prem, Cloud, CloudLaunch (Tanium)- Event/Incident Management (DataDog, ServiceNow)- App Secret/Cert Management (Azure, IIS)- Refresh/Upgrades (OS, Firmware, Drivers, HyperVs) Qualifications :Education :Bachelor's degree with a demonstrated interest in technology, technology issues, and analytical analysis. Preferred : Vendor Certifications a plus: Python, Powershell, Bash, TerraformExperience Required : - Minimum 5 to 8 years' experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Java, Python), configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and Infrastructure-As-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible); track record of applying automation to all aspects of technical operations- Working experience with Kubernetes, Linux, virtualization, Networking, Ansible, Openstack, Openshift, git, Maven, and security technologies. Preferred :- Experience with infrastructure and application monitoring tools such as DataDog, vCenter, Ops Manager and New Relic- Experience with service management and incident response systems such as Service Now and PagerDutyKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :- Solid knowledge of administering Windows and Linux Servers.- Sound understanding of Active Directory/DNS - Working experience Installing, upgrading, patching, troubleshooting, and Monitoring- Working experience with building and automating CI/CD chains.- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment- Strong Communication Skills (oral and written) are a must- Results-oriented approach to projects and tasksThis position is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced automation engineer to take their career to the next level.
