Account Manager – Digital Communications

Burson is the global communications leader built to create value for clients through reputation. As an Account Manager – Digital Communications, you will lead day-to-day client relationships, manage integrated communications programmes, mentor junior team members, and contribute to business growth. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strategic communications solutions while ensuring exceptional client service and operational excellence.


What you'll do:



  • Manage day-to-day client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.

  • Develop and execute integrated communications strategies aligned with client business objectives.

  • Lead client programmes, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.

  • Draft and review communication materials including press releases, key messages, Q&As, holding statements, media pitches, and briefing documents.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and media stakeholders.

  • Support media relations activities, media outreach, and digital communication campaigns.

  • Leverage Burson's proprietary tools including Creative Studio, BAV, Decipher, and Generative AI to strengthen communication programmes.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, media landscape, and social media conversations to provide strategic recommendations.

  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and support new business development initiatives.

  • Contribute to proposal development, client presentations, and business pitches.

  • Mentor and coach junior team members through effective delegation, training, and constructive feedback.

  • Manage client budgets, vendor coordination, invoicing, and project documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with Burson processes including SharePoint documentation, SOPs, client reviews, reporting, and Maconomy time recording.

  • Act as a Burson brand ambassador by supporting recruitment initiatives and maintaining professional standards.


Experience that contributes to success:



  • 4–6 years of experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Integrated Communications.

  • Strong experience managing multiple client accounts independently.

  • Excellent media relations skills with established journalist and influencer networks.

  • Proven experience in content development including press releases, media pitches, key messages, Q&As, and communication collateral.

  • Experience managing integrated communication and digital communication campaigns.

  • Strong business development exposure, including proposal writing and client presentations.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, client servicing, and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience mentoring junior team members and managing cross-functional teams.

  • Strong project management, budgeting, vendor management, and reporting skills.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms, digital analytics, and communication measurement tools.

  • Working knowledge of Generative AI tools for research, planning, ideation, content creation, and campaign execution.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
