About the Role
We’re looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead and oversee all accounting functions for our U.S.-based operations from our India office. This role requires a strong technical accounting foundation, deep understanding of reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit readiness, and the ability to manage a small offshore accounting team supporting a high-growth solar company.
You’ll ensure that our books remain accurate, our reports are timely, and our accounting systems and processes run seamlessly in coordination with the U.S. finance team.
This is a hands-on leadership role — ideal for someone with 10+ years of accounting experience who can operate independently, build structure, and deliver precision.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for the U.S. business, including AP, AR, payroll entries, and journal postings.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
Manage all reconciliations (bank, credit cards, intercompany, balance sheet accounts).
Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure all transactions are coded correctly.
Prepare and review financial statements in alignment with U.S. GAAP and internal standards.
Support the U.S. accounting team with data preparation, schedules, and reports.
Ensure accuracy in commission postings, reimbursements, and intercompany allocations.
Coordinate with auditors and assist in audit preparation.
Oversee accounting documentation, compliance, and process consistency across departments.
Train and guide bookkeepers and junior accounting staff to maintain consistency and quality.
Collaborate with operations, payroll, and finance managers to reconcile project-level costs and budgets.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
10+ years of experience in accounting and financial operations.
Experience supporting U.S. or international accounting teams is strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in:
QuickBooks Online / NetSuite / Xero
Excel / Google Sheets (pivot tables, reconciliations, dashboards)
Google Workspace / Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and documentation discipline.
Excellent English communication skills — both written and verbal.
Proven leadership experience — able to manage a small team (3–5 people) with accountability and structure.
Proactive, dependable, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.
KPIs / Success Metric
100% on-time monthly closes.
100% reconciliation accuracy for all accounts.
Zero audit discrepancies.
Accurate, consistent financial reports delivered to the U.S. team.
Documented accounting procedures and continuous process improvement.
Tools & Platforms
QuickBooks Online / NetSuite / Xero
Google Sheets / Excel
Google Drive / Workspace
Slack / Asana / Monday.com
Ideal Candidate
You’re an experienced accounting professional who thrives on structure, accuracy, and control. You take ownership of every number, ensure reports are flawless, and build systems that make the books run like clockwork. You can comfortably support a U.S. accounting team from India — delivering the same quality, discipline, and accountability expected in a senior finance office.
