Those in deal strategy at PwC will focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. Your work will involve analysing market trends, assessing business opportunities, and developing strategic frameworks to guide clients in making informed decisions regarding their deals. You will help clients navigate complex transactions, identify potential risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to maximise value and achieve their business objectives. Working in this area, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients in formulating and executing effective strategies to optimise outcomes in their deal-making processes.

Job Description:

You will join our Strategy& Value Creation team that combines our strategy consulting expertise with the vast capabilities of the PwC network. You will focus on key strategic challenges facing businesses, working on a diverse range of engagements - from supporting global, multi-billion-pound brands to advising private equity clients on how to maximise value across their portfolio companies. 

In Turnaround and Performance Improvement, you will work on a variety of assignments supporting clients to implement operational changes, contribute to process improvements to improve the overall performance, cost and sustainability of their operations. You will work closely to PwC UK, working on projects together, interacting with UK members on daily basis 

Work with the client engagement teams across the network to support global engagements from the KSDC offices, while ensuring the highest quality of deliverables and innovative solutioning, to meet and exceed Client requirements. 

Responsibilities 

  • Handle large data sets and perform data transformation, cleansing and validation activities to support network optimisation projects; 

  • Create and maintain data visualisations using Power BI or Tableau for data validation, integrity checking and expected data volume analysis (e.g. supply chain flow maps, number of sites, total sales/distribution volume, sales/distribution volumes over time and by product category); 

  • Build Alteryx flows to create required data tables, including importing multiple data sources, joining tables, performing data quality checks, cleaning data, creating new columns, using data types and filtering; 

  • Upload data tables into the Cosmic Frog platform and undertake data integrity checks in the software; 

  • Follow checklists on the required data tables for each of the key Cosmic Frog network modelling capabilities; 

  • Create and run scenarios within Cosmic Frog, and assess whether the output is valid; 

  • Perform project management activities, including working with and leading teams through delivery of assignments with clear communication and coordination across stakeholders; 

  • Proactively communicate with, work with and report to senior stakeholders within territory firms on client engagements; 

  • Identify and assess risks which could affect project delivery and proactively highlight them to key stakeholders; and 

  • Be responsible for internal initiatives of the Business Unit and contribute to our culture of continuous improvement, including the upskilling of other team members. 

Must haves: 

  • Sound analytical skills (collecting, manipulating and analysing financial and non-financial data), including strong use of Microsoft Excel; 

  • Report writing skills, including use of Microsoft PowerPoint; 

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation & excellent communication skills (Oral and Written to a high business English standard); 

  • Strong project management and organisational skills; 

  • A solid understanding of operational business drivers and critical thinking to enable the “So what” analysis; 

  • Strong experience in handling large data sets; 

  • Excel data transformation, cleansing and validation skills e.g. structured tables, data types, pivoting, lookups, error checking and formulas; 

  • Alteryx software experience in building flows to create the required data tables e.g. importing multiple data sources, joining tables, data quality checks, cleaning data, using data types, filtering; 

  • Able to create PowerBI or Tableau visualisations for data validation, to check data integrity and the expected data volumes e.g. supply chain flow maps, number of sites, total sales / distribution volume, sales / distribution volumes over time and by product category;  

  • Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively across teams in a high-performance culture and has a good sense of business English; and 

  • Ability to work effectively in a globally dispersed team environment; 

Preferable: 

  • Supply Chain principles knowledge to aid client conversations, data cleansing, validation and input table build e.g. understanding different supply chain nodes, flow lanes, transportation types, capacities, costs, service times, inventory policies; 

  • SQL server script and large-scale transformation experience e.g. proficient writing select / join / case coding, uploading & extracting data, creating views, data quality checks; 

  • Optimisation modelling experience; and 

  • Working knowledge and understanding of current AI technology tools; 

We will provide additional training in skills such as: 

  • Uploading data tables into the Cosmic Frog platform and undertaking data integrity checks in the software; 

  • Ability to follow a checklist on the required data tables for each of the key Cosmic Frog network modelling capabilities; and 

  • Ability to create and run scenarios within Cosmic Frog and assess whether the output is valid.
