Job Description - Agentforce Marketing (SFMC/Marketing Cloud Engagement ) - Lead / Senior Developer

The role  


We are looking for a hands-on Agentforce Marketing Lead / Senior Developer with 6–8 years of experience in the Salesforce ecosystem to design, develop, and deliver data-driven, AI-enabled, omnichannel marketing solutions.


This role combines strong Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) technical expertise with exposure to modern marketing architectures, Data Cloud, and emerging Agentforce capabilities along with good hands-on experience with Treasure Data.

Key Responsibilities:



  1. Marketing Cloud Solution Development (Core Focus)



  • Design and implement solutions using Marketing Cloud Engagement (SFMC)

  • Develop and manage:


    • Dynamic, reusable email templates

    • Multi-step customer journeys

    • Automation workflows


  • Implement personalization using:


    • AMPscript

    • SSJS

    • SQL




  1. Journey Orchestration & Omnichannel Execution



  • Build journeys across:


    • Email, SMS, Push, WhatsApp, Web


  • Configure:


    • Entry events, decision splits, engagement tracking


  • Support:


    • Event-driven and trigger-based campaigns


  • Ensure campaigns meet business goals and maximize ROI



  1. Data Management & Segmentation



  • Design and manage:


    • Data Extensions

    • Contact Builder data models


  • Perform:


    • Advanced segmentation, profiling, and targeting


  • Ensure high-quality data selections for CRM campaigns

  • Work with relational data models and SQL-driven logic



  1. Data Cloud & Modern Data Architecture



  • Work with Data Cloud for:


    • Audience segmentation

    • Data unification


  • Support integration with:


    • CRM systems

    • External platforms


  • Exposure to CDP tools (e.g., Treasure Data is a plus)



  1. AI & Agentforce (Emerging Capability)



  • Contribute to AI-driven marketing use cases

  • Support:


    • AI-assisted content generation

    • Send-time optimization

    • Prompt-driven workflows


  • Collaborate with architects on agent-based marketing solutions



  1. Integration & APIs



  • Implement integrations using:


    • REST / SOAP APIs


  • Enable seamless data exchange between:


    • Marketing Cloud

    • Sales / Service Cloud

    • External systems


  • Understand ETL pipelines and event-driven architecture



  1. Workflow Automation & Agile Delivery



  • Develop end-to-end marketing workflows

  • Participate in:


    • Story refinement

    • Requirements analysis


  • Follow Agile methodologies for iterative delivery



  1. Code Quality, Performance & Optimization



  • Write efficient and scalable code (AMPscript, SSJS, SQL)

  • Optimize:


    • Query performance

    • Automation runtimes

    • Campaign execution


  • Improve architecture, processes, and system performance

  • Follow best practices:


    • Naming conventions

    • Reusability

    • Error handling




  1. Documentation & Technical Excellence



  • Create:


    • Technical designs

    • Documentation

    • Prototypes


  • Maintain high-quality deliverables for long-term scalability



  1. Collaboration & Leadership



  • Work closely with:


    • Architects

    • Business Analysts

    • Marketing stakeholders


  • Engage in client-facing interactions

  • Take ownership of modules or tracks

  • Mentor junior developers (good to have)


Required Skills & Qualifications


Experience:



  • 6–8 years in Salesforce ecosystem

  • 3–5+ years hands-on experience in Marketing Cloud Engagement

  • Experience as a Tech Lead / Senior Consultant in SFMC


Core Technical Skills



  • Strong expertise in:


    • AMPscript

    • SSJS (Server-Side JavaScript)

    • SQL


  • Deep knowledge of:


    • Journey Builder

    • Automation Studio

    • Data Extensions



Data & Architecture



  • Strong understanding of:


    • Data modeling

    • Segmentation strategies

    • Relational databases


  • Experience with:


    • Data architecture

    • Campaign lifecycle management



Web & Email Technologies



  • Good understanding of:


    • HTML

    • CSS

    • XML


  • Experience building responsive and dynamic email templates


Integration Skills



  • APIs (REST/SOAP)

  • Event-driven architecture

  • ETL pipelines


AI / Modern Stack (Good to Have)



  • Exposure to:


    • Agentforce

    • Einstein AI

    • Data Cloud


  • Interest in:


    • AI-driven marketing

    • Personalization at scale



 


Preferred Qualifications



  • Salesforce Certifications:


    • Marketing Cloud Developer

    • Marketing Cloud Consultant


  • Exposure to:


    • Personalization / Interaction Studio

    • CDP platforms



Soft Skills:



  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking

  • Excellent communication (technical & non-technical)

  • Customer-facing capability

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments

  • Strong ownership mindset

  • Adaptability and growth mindset


Preferred Industry Experience



  • B2C domains:


    • Retail

    • Luxury

    • FMCG

A modern SFMC Lead Developer transitioning into an AI-enabled Marketing Engineer, capable of combining:
