We are now entering the next shift: Agentic Development Environments (ADEs)\u2014where AI agents are first-class contributors across the software development lifecycle.\n\nWe are building the systems that make this future real.\n\nRole Overview\n\nAs an Agentic AI Systems Engineer, you will design and build the platform foundations that enable autonomous, always-on AI agents to collaborate with engineers at scale. This role is for engineers who think in systems, abstractions, and long-term leverage\u2014not just features.\n\nYou will work at the intersection of developer platforms, distributed systems, and applied AI, shaping how agentic engineering operates across the organization.\n\nKey Platform Areas\n\nMCP Platform Layer \nBuild and evolve the Model Context Protocol (MCP) layer that provides AI agents with structured, secure, and low-latency access to internal tools, data, documentation, and the developer\u0027s lifecycle.\n\nSkill Marketplace \nDesign systems that convert tribal knowledge into composable, portable \u201cskills.\u201d These skills can be loaded by agents on demand, making any engineer or agent productive in any repository instantly.\n\nWhat You Will Build\n\n * Skill Pack Framework \nArchitect and ship the end-to-end skill framework, including authoring, versioning, distribution, and runtime loading across Java, Python, C++, and web-based codebases. Skills are the core differentiator\u2014encapsulated expertise that travels with the agent.\n\n * Multi-Agent Runtime \nDesign and implement a multi-agent execution environment with persistent background agents, swarm coordination, and cross-agent context sharing. Enable agents to operate continuously and in parallel, not as one-shot invocations.\n\n * Agent-Aware Code Intelligence \nDevelop deep code understanding systems such as semantic code search, dependency-aware context modeling, and structural codebase analysis. Move beyond text-based retrieval toward true program-level reasoning.\n\n\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Own and evolve the MCP platform, unifying code, documentation, and developer lifecycle MCPs into a single, dependable context infrastructure.\n * Partner with product, domain, service, and backend platform teams to deliver foundational agentic systems.\n * Define technical direction for agentic infrastructure across domain and shared platforms.\n * Establish architecture standards, verification methods, and trust models for agent-generated code at organizational scale.\n * Mentor engineers in agentic development practices and raise the bar for how teams build and ship with AI agents.\n\n\n\nMust-Have Qualifications\n\n * Proven experience building and operating developer tooling or platform infrastructure (SDKs, CLIs, APIs, runtimes) in large-scale engineering environments.\n * Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++) with hands-on experience integrating AI/ML models into developer workflows.\n * Solid system design expertise for highly reliable, observable, developer-facing services and agentic systems.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nBachelor\u0027s Degree\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n7 - 10 Years\n\n### Work Experience:\n\n## Additional Information\n\n### \n\n### Shift:\n\nDay (India)\n\n### \n\n### Travel:\n\nYes, 20% of the Time\n\n### \n\n### Relocation Eligible:\n\nYes\n\n### Referral Payment Plan:\n\nEmployee Referral (Standard)\n\nApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
