Job Title: Indirect Tax Associate / Senior Associate

Experience Required

0 to 3 years of experience in an Indirect Tax profile.

2 to 5 years of overall experience is preferred.

Key Qualifications & Requirements

• Graduate / CA Inter / Law Intermediate.


• Prior experience or insight into GST and Customs is desirable.


• Experience in the erstwhile Indirect Tax regime (e.g., Sales Tax, Service Tax, Central Excise) is a plus.


• Must have hands-on experience in GST compliance (mandatory – screen candidates accordingly).


• Working knowledge of MS Office.


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills – ability to liaise at all levels and interact effectively with clients.


• An energetic, innovative individual with an entrepreneurial attitude and strong business acumen.


• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.


• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support

• Participate in engagements and compliances related to Indirect Taxation—primarily GST and Customs.


• Execute assigned engagements end-to-end: preparation, return filing, and report generation.


• Maintain awareness of firm’s service offerings; identify and escalate potential opportunities to the team.


• Review data for technical accuracy; flag discrepancies or additional data requirements.


• Coordinate with client’s finance team to ensure timely tax payments and approvals.


• Maintain a compliance calendar and ensure timely filing and tracking of tax returns for assigned clients.


• Assist in tax audits, tax research, and special projects as required.

Research & Technical Inputs

• Conduct thorough research aligned with client expectations, leveraging external and internal tools.


• Ensure accurate, timely, and actionable research outputs.

Teamwork & People Skills

• Collaborate constructively with team members to evaluate and improve individual and team performance.

Knowledge Management

• Regularly update the KM database with regulatory and industry updates.


• Stay updated on industry, business, and sector trends; share insights with the team.


• Encourage sharing of best practices across teams.


• Develop content for external events, seminars, and knowledge-sharing sessions.


• Disseminate learnings from external forums with the team.

Brand & Reputation Management

• Represent Dhruva at external forums and build a high-quality professional network.


• Elevate firm’s visibility and credibility through thought leadership and client interactions.

Interview & Hiring Process

• Interviews will be conducted face-to-face.


• Strong communication skills are mandatory.


• Candidates must have experience in Indirect Taxation from a CA firm, consulting firm, or legal firm. Corporate tax experience is not acceptable for this role.
