Job Description - Ansible

Exp - 5 - 7 yrs

Location- Pune

Primary skill - ansible, Jenkins and other automation Tools

Operating system - windows and Linux'

Patching automation.

Roles and Responsibilities of an Automation Project Manager

1. Project Planning & Execution

 Define project scope, objectives, and timelines in alignment with business goals.

 Create detailed project plans for automation initiatives including tasks, resources,

dependencies, and milestones.

 Manage end-to-end delivery of automation solutions—from requirement gathering

to post-deployment support.

2. Stakeholder Communication

 Act as a single point of contact between technical teams, leadership, and customers.

 Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, and progress.

 Conduct presentations and demos to showcase automation value and outcomes.

3. Requirements Gathering

 Collaborate with operations, engineering, and process owners to identify repetitive,

manual tasks suitable for automation.

 Translate business problems into technical use cases.

4. Resource & Task Management

 Coordinate with developers, testers, and infrastructure teams for timely task

execution.

 Manage resource allocation, skill alignment, and track deliverables.

5. Risk Management

 Identify potential risks related to timelines, technology compatibility, and

operational impact.

 Define mitigation plans and fallback strategies.

6. Quality & Compliance

 Ensure all automation solutions are compliant with internal IT policies and external

regulations (e.g., for BFSI or healthcare).

 Oversee testing phases to validate automation workflows before deployment.

7. Documentation & Reporting

 Maintain detailed documentation of requirements, designs, test plans, and

runbooks.

 Generate project reports, ROI analysis, and dashboards for leadership review.

8. Process Optimization & Innovation

 Recommend process improvements through automation.

 Stay updated with emerging technologies like RPA, Ansible, ServiceNow, Terraform,

etc., and introduce innovative solutions.

9. Dashboard creation in Smartsheet.

 Using the existing project intake prepare the Dashboard for VP/Directors in

Smartsheet.

Essential Skillset:-

 Smartsheet - Mandatory

 Certification - PMP/Prince2 – Mandatory

 ITIL – V3/V4 – Foundation certified. (Minimum)

 Prior experience in managed Services with enterprise clients a must.

 Had experience in Automation & DevOps.

 Knowledge in technology fundamentals and trends is essential.

 Excellent ability to influence across and up – achieving/beating expected business

outcomes

 Demonstrates strong business, program and analytical skills - breaks down business

challenges into solutions with a clear path forward

 Leadership:  Forming and leading teams to successful outcomes by eliminating

barriers and delivering results.

 Project Methodology:  Building and executing strategic initiatives by delivering

comprehensive planning, tracking and performance.

 Accountability: Own and drive results with a sense of urgency.

savings and simplification.

 Team Approach and Collaboration:  Leverage strengths across team to achieve

 Ability to understand risk and develop mitigation plans - knows how and when to

 Has in-depth experience with key practices, processes and methodologies applicable

to project management & Automation.

 Strong business acumen, with experience working in a variety of industries and IT

areas

 Must have demonstrated aptitude to understand a variety of technical domains and

strategies regarding opportunities, challenges, risks and business impact

 Agile approach in personal work style, with ability to be flexible and adept in dealing

with and resolving ambiguity 

 Track record of building successful relationships, internally and externally

 Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills including creating

usable documentation and tools

Education and Experience Required:

 Degree in a related technical field

 5+ years of experience managing, complex and transformative IT programs and

projects such as software development, Managed Services Transitions
