Job Description - API Developer

Designs, migrates and supports the RESTful APIs that serve fmPilot
Integrations, Vendor, Client and Mobile platforms. Leads the move from legacy
.NET Framework APIs to .NET 4.8.1 and Azure Functions.

Key Responsibilities

‒Design, develop and
maintain RESTful APIs for vendor, client and mobile platforms.

‒Migrate legacy .NET
Framework APIs to ASP.NET Core and Azure Functions; publish and version them
through APIM.

‒Build and support
integrations that update SQL Server-based systems and related business data.

‒Implement
authentication and authorization for secure API access, including OAuth 2.0 and
JWT validation.

‒Ensure high-quality
API design with strong error handling, validation, logging and monitoring.

‒Lead code reviews,
mentor engineers and enforce engineering standards.

‒Troubleshoot
production issues and improve performance, reliability and scalability.

Required Skills and
Experience

‒Strong experience in
C# and modern .NET development, plus .NET Framework-based enterprise
applications.

‒Hands-on ASP.NET Web
API and ASP.NET Core REST API development.

‒Strong knowledge of
Entity Framework and SQL Server; able to write and optimize T-SQL and stored
procedures.

‒API security
principles: OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML and role-based access.

‒API versioning,
exception handling, logging and monitoring.

‒Experience
integrating APIs with web, mobile and third-party systems.

‒Familiarity with
Swagger/OpenAI, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

‒Ability to work in
legacy codebases and support long-running enterprise platforms.
