This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a App Dev Architect (.NET), Contract based in India.
This role is a high-impact architecture engagement focused on modernizing and transforming legacy enterprise systems into scalable, cloud-native .NET 8 microservices. You will act as the technical anchor for a critical migration initiative, responsible for re-architecting complex Oracle PL/SQL business logic into modern distributed services. The position involves deep hands-on engineering leadership, guiding a small team of backend engineers while ensuring architectural rigor, performance, and scalability. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to bridge legacy database systems with cloud-native AWS-based infrastructure. This is a contract role requiring strong technical depth in .NET, Oracle, and cloud architectures. The environment is fast-paced, execution-driven, and focused on delivering robust enterprise-grade systems.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the end-to-end architectural design and execution of migrating complex Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures into modular, scalable .NET 8 microservices.
- Define and enforce microservices architecture standards, including data flow patterns, API design, validation strategies, and performance optimization approaches.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of 5 backend engineers, including code reviews, design guidance, and sprint-level technical direction.
- Design and oversee cloud-native deployment strategies using AWS services, including EKS and service mesh architectures, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate legacy system logic into modern distributed solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Establish best practices for system integration, database communication, and secure, high-availability system design.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5+ years in application and system architecture roles.
- Strong expertise in .NET 8, C#, and building scalable Web APIs and microservices.
- Deep hands-on experience with Oracle SQL/PL/SQL, including analysis and decomposition of complex legacy stored procedures.
- Proven experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure, especially EKS and service mesh (or equivalent Azure/GCP technologies).
- Prior experience leading or mentoring engineering teams of 4–6 members in agile environments.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems design, performance tuning, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills with the ability to drive technical alignment across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
