Application Support Engineer - IIS/Windows

Job Overview

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer with hands-on experience supporting web applications and application environments using Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server, and .NET.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with application deployments, production troubleshooting, system configuration, and resolving technical issues within defined service levels.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot web applications, APIs, and application environments.
• Deploy, configure, upgrade, and maintain applications hosted on IIS.
• Support .NET application deployments and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot application, IIS, SQL Server, connectivity, and production issues.
• Handle application releases, patches, fixes, and service requests.
• Troubleshoot SSL certificates, DNS, ports, and network connectivity.
• Assist with security hardening and remediation of application/server vulnerabilities.
• Analyze logs and identify the root cause of production issues.
• Work with internal and customer-facing teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure issues are handled within agreed SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
• Provide occasional onsite and after-hours support when required.

Requirements

Required Skills

• 2+ years of experience in Application Support / Production Support.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server and IIS.
• Experience with .NET application deployment and support.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of SSL, DNS, networking, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Understanding of application/server security and vulnerability remediation.
• Basic SQL/scripting knowledge.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.

Preferred

• Experience with APIs and web applications.
• Exposure to SQL clustering or log shipping.
• Exposure to DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with basic mobile application/platform support.
