About Oogway Apps

Oogway Apps builds and operates a portfolio of mobile apps across gaming and non-gaming categories. We are looking for a monetisation owner who can grow revenue across the portfolio while protecting user experience and retention.

Role Overview

You will own the monetisation strategy and execution for a set of apps in the Oogway portfolio, covering both ad revenue (IAA) and in-app purchases and subscriptions (IAP). You will work with product, engineering, UA/marketing, design, and analytics to design monetisation systems, run experiments, optimise yield, and improve LTV and ARPDAU, while keeping ROAS and retention healthy.

Key ResponsibilitiesAd monetisation

  • Own ad revenue for assigned apps across rewarded, interstitial, banner, native, app-open, and MREC formats.

  • Manage mediation platforms (e.g., AppLovin MAX, Google AdMob/AdMob Mediation, IronSource/LevelPlay, Unity LevelPlay) and ad network integrations (e.g., Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, Mintegral, Pangle, Liftoff/Vungle, InMobi, Moloco).

  • Optimise waterfalls and bidding setups, floor prices, placements, frequency caps, pacing, and ad-unit configurations by geo, user cohort, and app version.

  • Run A/B tests on ad placements, formats, timing, and session-level ad load to maximise ARPDAU without hurting retention or session length.

  • Monitor fill rates, eCPMs, show rates, latency, and ad quality, and work with partner account managers to resolve issues and unlock better demand.

  • Ensure ad quality and compliance through creative filtering, category blocking, and malicious or misleading ad monitoring.

IAP and subscription monetisation

  • Own IAP and subscription revenue, including pricing, packaging, offers, paywalls, trials, and promotions.

  • Design and test store catalogues, price points, regional pricing, bundles, starter packs, and limited-time offers (gaming), and paywall designs, trial structures, and annual-vs-monthly mix (non-gaming).

  • Work on conversion, payer penetration, ARPPU, renewal rate, churn, and win-back strategies.

  • Manage subscription tooling and billing infrastructure (e.g., RevenueCat, Adapty, native Google Play Billing / StoreKit).

Hybrid monetisation and LTV

  • Build the right mix of ads and IAP for each app based on genre, audience, and geography.

  • Model LTV by cohort, channel, and geo, and partner with the UA team to set bidding targets and payback windows.

  • Identify new revenue levers such as offerwalls, rewarded video economies, sponsorships, or premium tiers.

Analytics and reporting

  • Build and maintain dashboards for revenue, ARPDAU, eCPM, impressions per DAU, conversion, ARPPU, LTV, and ROAS.

  • Run cohort, funnel, and segmentation analysis to find opportunities and diagnose revenue drops.

  • Deliver weekly and monthly performance reports with clear insights, forecasts, and recommendations.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work with product and design to integrate monetisation into game economies and app flows without harming the experience.

  • Work with engineering on SDK integrations, updates, QA, and release management for ad and billing SDKs.

  • Work with UA/marketing to align monetisation with acquisition strategy and ensure positive unit economics.

  • Keep apps compliant with Google Play and App Store policies, privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), consent frameworks (CMP/UMP), ATT, and COPPA where relevant.

RequirementsMust have

  • 3–6 years of experience in mobile app monetisation, ad ops, or product growth, with hands-on ownership of ad revenue and/or IAP.

  • Strong working knowledge of mediation platforms, programmatic and bidding concepts, and ad network ecosystems.

  • Proven track record of improving ARPDAU, eCPM, conversion, or LTV through structured experimentation.

  • Solid understanding of mobile metrics: retention, ARPDAU, LTV, ROAS, payer conversion, eCPM, fill rate.

  • Strong analytical skills, with comfort in spreadsheets and SQL, and in BI tools (Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, or similar).

  • Experience with A/B testing tools (Firebase Remote Config, Google Optimize alternatives, Unity Remote Config, or in-house frameworks).

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence product and engineering decisions.

Good to have

  • Experience across both gaming (hyper-casual, casual, hybrid-casual, midcore) and non-gaming (utility, productivity, lifestyle, edtech, photo/video) apps.

  • Experience with subscription apps and paywall optimisation.

  • Familiarity with attribution and analytics tools (AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular, Firebase, GameAnalytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel).

  • Understanding of Python or scripting for automation and reporting.

  • Knowledge of privacy, consent, and platform policy requirements.

  • Experience working with publisher or ad network account managers to negotiate better terms.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Total monetisation revenue (ads + IAP) for assigned apps

  • ARPDAU and ARPU/LTV growth

  • Ad eCPM, fill rate, and impressions per DAU

  • IAP and subscription conversion, ARPPU, and renewal rate

  • ROAS and LTV-to-CAC payback

  • Number and win-rate of monetisation experiments

  • Retention and session-length guardrails (no negative impact from monetisation changes)

What Success Looks Like

  • First 30 days: Learn the portfolio, audit current monetisation setups, and identify quick wins.

  • First 90 days: Launch a prioritised experiment roadmap and show measurable ARPDAU or conversion gains on key apps.

  • First 6–12 months: Establish a scalable monetisation playbook for the portfolio, with improved LTV and ROAS across assigned apps.

What We Offer

  • Ownership of monetisation across a diverse app portfolio

  • Direct impact on revenue and a seat at the table for product decisions

  • A fast-moving environment with room to experiment

  • Competitive compensation: [Salary range / performance incentives]
