Job Description - Area Sales Manager

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Min Experience: 3 years

Location: Chennai, Bangalore

JobType: full-time

A high-impact opportunity for a driven and entrepreneurial sales professional to lead growth for the Supply Chain Finance vertical. The role focuses on expanding market presence by acquiring and managing key anchor partners, distributors, and retailers while driving credit utilisation and portfolio performance within the MSME ecosystem. This position is ideal for someone who excels in consultative selling, relationship leadership, and business expansion within the lending and working capital space.

Key Responsibilities

Anchor & Retailer Acquisition

  • Identify, onboard, and activate new brand anchors, distributors, and retailers to increase adoption of SCF solutions.
  • Drive utilisation and engagement across the supply chain network.

Regional Sales Ownership

  • Design and execute regional sales plans to meet acquisition, disbursement, and revenue goals.
  • Track and optimise lead conversions, portfolio usage, and market penetration.

Pipeline Development

  • Build a strong funnel by identifying high-growth industries, brands, and regional opportunities.
  • Leverage industry insights to prioritise markets and strategic accounts.

Stakeholder & CXO Engagement

  • Develop long-term partnerships with senior decision-makers at anchor organisations.
  • Drive high-level conversations around working capital solutions and financial enablement.

Industry Representation

  • Participate in trade forums, business events, and networking platforms to strengthen brand presence and market credibility.

Portfolio & Risk Oversight

  • Monitor anchor program performance, flag early risks, and drive controlled scale-up.
  • Maintain healthy utilisation and portfolio discipline.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work with Risk, Operations, Compliance, and Product teams to ensure seamless onboarding, disbursement, and program delivery.
  • Share on-ground insights to contribute to product and process enhancements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3–8 years of experience in B2B Sales, Supply Chain Finance, Working Capital Loans, or SME Lending.
  • Strong track record in client acquisition, relationship management, and revenue delivery.
  • Ability to engage and influence CXO-level stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven individual with strong business ownership and problem-solving mindset.
  • Prior experience in Supply Chain Financing or Channel Lending is preferred.
