Job Description - Area Sales Manager

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients

Min Experience: 4 years

Location: Gujarat, Maharashtra

JobType: full-time

The Area Sales Manager – Gujarat & Maharashtra will play a critical role in driving business growth across key agricultural territories. This position focuses on expanding market presence, building strong relationships with farmers and commercial growers, and delivering customized protected cultivation solutions that enhance productivity and profitability. The role requires extensive field engagement, strong solution-selling capabilities, and a deep understanding of agri-based sales dynamics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Territory Development
    • Identify, map, and prioritize high-potential farming clusters, nurseries, and commercial growers across Gujarat and Maharashtra.
    • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through regular field visits, demonstrations, and networking activities.
  • Client Engagement & Solution Selling
    • Conduct on-site assessments to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate protected cultivation solutions.
    • Deliver technical product demonstrations and presentations to showcase value and ROI.
    • Prepare proposals, quotations, and negotiate terms to achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Relationship Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing technical queries and ensuring high satisfaction.
    • Coordinate with internal agronomy, operations, and project teams to ensure smooth execution and implementation.
    • Organize and lead farmer workshops, product trainings, and field days in English and Hindi.
  • Reporting & Market Intelligence
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and customer interactions in CRM systems.
    • Submit regular sales reports, competitor analysis, and market insights to support strategic decision-making.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in B2B or agri-input sales; exposure to protected cultivation or agri-tech solutions is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of solution-based selling and relationship-driven sales.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English and Hindi.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently in field-intensive roles.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory; valid driving license required.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, reporting, and basic sales analytics.
  • Willingness to continuously learn about new agricultural technologies and market trends.
