Assistant Manager

This role provides overall management of service delivery through effective leadership and development of the Finance Shared Services team in conjunction with the broader business requirements.

Manage and lead the process to ensure timely, accurate and quality deliverables are met in compliance with Wood policy. To oversee, coordinate and manage daily activities and ensure efficient process flow. To work cross functionally within Finance and outside Finance ensuring satisfaction with services which would include process enhancement, reporting, or additional automation. The role works autonomously working in conjunction with other Managers and Global Process Owners.

To build and maintain key stakeholder relationships across the business to ensure satisfaction of delivery of services is defined and met.

 

• Ensuring all deliverables are met as per SLA’s.
• Strong governance at each level to stay connected with employees, stakeholders, and management.
• Promote the culture of continuous improvement in day-to-day jobs to achieve excellence.
• Review and analyze Income Statement performance, including comparisons against Budget, Forecast, and historical trends.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow Statements.
• Review and approve account reconciliations, including Payroll, Prepayments, Accruals, Fixed Assets, Short-term and Long-term Leases, Sub-ledgers, and Tax accounts.
• Review payroll burden analysis, forecast burden costs, compare forecasted and actual costs, identify variances, and provide meaningful explanations for key deviations.
• Review budgeting and forecasting activities for overhead and SG&A expenses, cost recoveries, and related adjustment entries.
• Review and approve period-end journal entries, including Project Accounting entries, in accordance with the established approval matrix.
• Analyse financial reports to identify, investigate, and explain significant variances.
• Review and perform analysis of Flash Reports to provide timely financial insights and support decision-making.
• Provide inputs for forecast.
• Standardise the processes across different regions/ ERPs.
• Lead transitions and subsequently running of operations.
• Ensuring continuous interaction with business for improved service levels for all the businesses, regions, and countries we are supporting including (APAC, EMEA & US).
• Taking escalations for resolving critical issues; ensuring Business Continuity.
• Monitor/Control all aspects of Operations like Risk & Compliance, Information Security and Quality initiatives. 
• Establish strong process to support internal and external audits.
• Processes are following audit standards and all audit observations are actioned and closed.
• Upskilling team members for internal growth opportunity.
• Creating the culture for encouraging people to speak-up and share their thoughts openly.
• Integrate the people with the strategic management process.
• Retain talent.
• Establish mechanisms to ensure enhancement in the overall productivity, volume, and competence levels of the team through strategic interventions.

• CA/CMA/Post graduate degree in finance or equivalent
• 8+ years of extensive experience in respective functional areas across multiple countries including 2-3 years in leadership role.
• Working knowledge of IFRS 16 Leases Accounting is desirable.
• Seasoned professional who understands broader functional practices.
• Experienced in process improvements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experienced in hiring across multiple levels. 
• Ability to lead a team of 35+ employees.
• Knowledge of Oracle ERP, Oracle EPM (planning/FCCS) and Blackline is desirable.
• Global Exposure of multiple countries including APAC, EMEA & US.
