The Assistant Manager - Finance will play a critical, hands-on role in ensuring robust financial management, accurate reporting, and compliance for the organization. This position is central to managing daily bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, overseeing donor fund utilization, and ensuring strict adherence to all statutory requirements.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Accounting and Bookkeeping
Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts using Tally, including the processing of all vouchers, receipts, bills, and petty cash transactions.
Prepare and finalize trial balances and financial statements.
Ensure timely processing of advance settlements and bank reconciliations.
2. Financial Reporting and Budgeting
Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including Balance Sheets and utilization reports (specifically for donor-funded projects).
Provide essential support for the creation, monitoring, and management of program budgets.
Ensure zero-error accuracy in all financial documentation and reporting.
3. Compliance and Audits
Handle all aspects of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), including deductions, payments, and timely returns filing.
Maintain comprehensive compliance-related records and ensure strict adherence to all statutory norms.
Coordinate and support both statutory and donor audits by ensuring timely and complete documentation.
4. Banking and Payments
Manage daily banking operations, including cheque issuance, NEFT/RTGS, and fund transfers.
Oversee vendor payments and employee reimbursements, ensuring all transactions are backed by proper documentation.
5. Management Information Systems (MIS) and Donor Reporting
Prepare and submit donor utilization reports according to specific guidelines and timelines.
Develop MIS reports to provide timely financial data that aids management in decision-making.
Uphold transparency and accountability in all aspects of fund utilization.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance is required; M.Com or MBA (Finance) is preferred.
3-6 years of demonstrated experience in finance, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. Experience in the NGO/development sector is a significant advantage.
Strong proficiency in Tally and MS Office (especially Excel/Google Sheets).
Solid technical understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals, including vouchers, receipts, payments, and advance settlements.
In-depth knowledge of compliance processes, including TDS, FCRA (if applicable), fund utilization, and audit requirements.
