Job Description - Assistant Manager - Production

Overall Purpose: Responsible for the overall shift operation in terms of production, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and human resources. Manage all aspects of the shift through collaborative working with the other Managers for delivering, and where possible, exceeding, the KPIs within operation. Strive to continually improve using Lean tools to reduce costs, improve production and quality. Act independently at the organisational level.

Position Title: Shift Manager Production

Grade: M1 - Asst Manager

Location: Nagpur Plant

Required Qualification: BE/BTech

Eligibility: ME to M1 qualified pool

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Manage daily production operations to meet targets.
- Ensure process compliance and reduce scrap (fabric & cured tyres).
- Drive safety practices (unsafe act reporting, HIRA).
- Monitor plan vs. actual production and take corrective action.
- Lead 5S, SMT, kaizens, and audits for continuous improvement.
- Engage and motivate team members for productivity and ownership.

Technical Skills:

- Tyre manufacturing processes
- Quality systems & process audits
- Lean, Kaizen, 5S, TPM practices
- Safety & risk management (HIRA)
- Data analysis & problem-solving
- Team leadership & shopfloor management

- Key KPIs
- Scrap reduction (%)
- Plan vs. Actual compliance
- Process audit compliance
- Unsafe act/condition reporting & closure
- Kaizens per person/month
- 5S & SMT scores
- RPN reduction (Top 15 HIRA risks)
