Job Title- Assistant Manager- Quality Control

Location- Mumbai HO

The role- Assistant Manager-Quality Control

What you'll be responsible for

1.Cold Chain & Market Quality Ownership

Ensure end-to-end cold chain compliance across: Primary and secondary distribution Warehouses and transport

Last-mile customer assets (freezers, cabinets, and concessions)

Monitor and improve temperature control compliance across the region

2. Quality Compliance & Standards

Ensure adherence to: Internal quality standards and specifications

External certifications (e.g., HACCP, FSSC 22000)

Local regulatory and food safety requirements

Drive compliance in warehousing and logistics operations

3. Quality Systems & Governance

Support deployment and control of the Quality Management System (QMS)

Ensure compliance with local legislation and Unilever global standards

Maintain documentation and audit readiness

4.Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Partner with: Manufacturing teams

Supply chain and distribution teams

Sales and customer teams

5. Audit & Continuous Improvement

Support internal and external audits

Track key quality metrics and KPIs

Identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives

6. Consumer Complaints & Issue Resolution

Investigate consumer complaints and quality incidents

Lead root cause analysis and implement CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions)

Monitor complaint trends (e.g., CCPMU) and share insights

Support crisis/incident management (IMT/E2E investigations where applicable)

7.Change Management

Ensure effective quality risk assessment during business or process changes

Maintain change management processes for quality impact control

8. Training & Capability Building

Develop and deliver training materials for quality awareness

Build capability in distributor, logistics, and customer teams

9. Regulatory & Import/Export Compliance

Support regulatory interactions and compliance with local authorities

Assist in managing Inter-Company Quality Agreements (ICQA), if applicable

We're looking for someone who

•Strong knowledge of food safety and quality systems (HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO)

Good understanding of cold chain and logistics quality management

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to conduct audits and drive compliance

Effective stakeholder management and communication skills

Strong attention to detail and data-driven mindset

Proactive, adaptable, and continuous improvement-oriented

Bachelor’s degree from premier institutes or MBA graduates

5–8 years of experience in quality management, logistics or manufacturing (FMCG / Food industry preferred)

Prior experience in supply chain or market quality is an advantage

Experience handling audits, compliance, and consumer complaints

Leadership Expectations

Drives continuous improvement and operational excellence
