Job Description - Associate Designer (Mechanical Draftsman)

Role Overview
As an Associate Design Engineer, you’ll support the design and drafting of mechanical systems and assemblies across CRA’s product lines. This is a hands -on role for early -career professionals who are excited to grow their skills across CAD modelling, fabrication drawings, piping layouts, and structural design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of 2D models and drawings
  • Generate manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and isometrics for fabricated parts and assemblies.
  • Develop layout drawings including GA, piping, and P&IDs.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
  • Carry out basic simulations (thermal, structural) and design validations.
  • Update design documentation based on change requests and engineering feedback.
  • Participate in technical discussions and design reviews.


Requirements

  • Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2–4 years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in Oil & Gas, Energy, or Industrial Equipment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks; familiarity with Plant 3D is a plus.
  • Awareness of engineering standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, ISO.
  • ​Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and team mindset.
