About the Role:
This position holds the responsibility of managing Programming Strategy & Insights for the Gujarati Cluster and will be instrumental in pivoting the channel’s content strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Quantitative :
Analyze TV audience measurement data (e.g., from Broadcast Audience Research Council India) to track channel and program performance (TRPs, GRPs, reach, time spent, etc.)
Deliver regular and ad-hoc reports on ratings performance, competitor benchmarking, and genre trends
Support programming teams with insights on show launches, time-band performance, and audience segmentation
Work closely with ad sales teams to provide data-backed narratives for media planning and client pitches
Identify patterns in audience consumption across demographics, regions, and platforms
Conduct deep-dive analysis on campaign performance, content experiments, and special events
Collaborate with digital teams to integrate TV and OTT viewership insights
Translate complex datasets into clear, business-friendly insights and recommendations
Qualitative :
To work on projects and/ problems statements that can potentially impact
Mining insights & mapping trends in consumer attitudes, preferences, lifestyles, and behavior that will help sharpen the team’s consumer understanding
Analysing consumer feedback, accurately identify problem areas and provide sharp & actionable insights to the content and communication teams
Use insights from consumer feedback to actively provide stimulus or thought starters to the internal teams
To work on projects and/ problems statements that can potentially impact storytelling
Performance Measures:
Achievement of reach and viewership targets for shows and campaigns
Achievement of FPC accuracy targets and optimization of slot/break patterns to maximize ad-inventory value without compromising viewer experience
Data Accuracy & Insights
Identification of rising consumer trends & changes in societal fabric
Number of sharp and actionable insights that were provided to business that aided strategic decisions
Number of projects worked on and its long/ short term impact
Number of innovative research techniques employed
Success of cross-functional collaboration
Team productivity, engagement, and retention
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:
MBA from a premium B School or P.G. in Film & TV Production, Degree in Sociology/ Psychology/ Behavioural sciences
10 years of relevant experience in media, broadcasting, or creative agencies, preferably within the television industry.
Deep understanding of consumer behavior and audience preferences.
Passionate about content and skilled in excellent stakeholder management.
Ability to collaborate and forge strong alliances within the organization.
Proficient in problem-solving and decision-making.
