Associate Manager - Demand and Inventory PLanning

About the Opportunity
Smytten operates at the intersection of beauty, personal care, and direct-to-consumer e-commerce in India, driving agile supply chain strategies to match rapidly shifting consumer demand. We leverage real-time sales analytics, inventory velocity modeling, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure optimal stock levels, minimal waste, and maximum availability of trending products across our omnichannel ecosystem.

Role & Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end demand forecasting for key SKUs, using historical trends, seasonality, promotions, and market signals to drive accurate 3–6 month projections.


• Monitor real-time inventory levels across warehousing and retail channels; trigger replenishment, markdown, or transfer actions to prevent stockouts or overstock.


• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to align inventory plans with campaign calendars, new launches, and regional demand spikes.


• Build and maintain inventory dashboards in Excel or Power BI to visualize turnover rates, sell-through, aged stock, and forecast accuracy KPIs.


• Partner with logistics to optimize safety stock, lead times, and warehouse capacity — balancing service levels with working capital efficiency.


• Lead monthly S&OP cycles by presenting inventory health, demand assumptions, and risk mitigation plans to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, forecasting models)


• Power BI or Tableau (dashboard creation, data visualization)


• ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)


• Demand planning methodologies (statistical forecasting, driver-based modeling)


• Inventory optimization principles (buffer stock, ABC analysis, ROP/ROQ)


• Supply chain KPIs (OTIF, inventory turnover, forecast accuracy)

Preferred

• Experience with retail or D2C beauty/personal care categories


• Working knowledge of SQL or Python for data extraction and automation


• Knowledge of WMS or OMS platforms (e.g., Manhattan, TradeGecko)
