Associate - Mechanical

Responsible for coordinating the efforts on projects of WSP India GCC teams, the personal and professional development of the GCC mechanical and project engineers, and for small to large sized projects being executed by the GCC ERI (E&P) team.

• Make recommendations and be involved with important decision making on highly technical and complex aspects of WSP projects. Able to put together rough concepts for execution by others.
• Ensure compliance of PEP from the team with established Energy & Process procedures
• Accountable for managing the engineering project scope within allocated budget and schedule provided by WSP Canada
• Complete feasibility studies and technical report writing.
• Support project controls on an on-going basis i.e. scope control, cost control, schedule control, and risk control
• Responsible for reviewing and stamping drawings (as required); using experience in interpreting design codes and regulatory requirements.
• Proactively manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided (to relevant parties) when schedule and cost conflicts arise.
• Maintain regular communication with the Energy & Process team on identifying priorities for the ICRC Mechanical/Project engineering team
• Ensure adherence to company engineering policies, procedures, and systems for the engineering group.
• Expected to work with all levels of the organization in a cohesive manner.
• Champion and support the project change management process in the areas of design change notices
• Support scope change requests from the Energy & Process team
• Support the mechanical team in procurement of mechanical equipment packages from RFP to PO closeout

• Engineering degree in a related discipline or technical diploma from post-secondary institution.
• P.Eng. designation.
• Registered with appropriate authorities in Western Canada (APEGA, ASET, APEGBC)
• 20+ years of previous experience in an EPCM environment in the domestic and international oil and gas industry is an asset.
• 5+ years prior management experience in an engineering consulting environment.
• Highly proficient in MS Office including training with vendor and database software.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently.
• Vast experience and exposure with field operations.
