Associate Partner Role in Indirect Tax - Bangalore

Key areas of the role

1. Client Support & Tax Compliance

• Handle engagements relating to GST and Customs.


• Support end-to-end execution of client assignments.


• Assist with GST return preparation, filing, reconciliations, and report generation.


• Review client data, identify discrepancies, and highlight additional information requirements.


• Coordinate with clients' finance teams to ensure timely tax payments, approvals, and filings.


• Maintain compliance calendars and track statutory deadlines.


• Assist with tax audits, assessments, research, and special projects.

2. Tax Research & Technical Inputs

• Conduct detailed research on GST, Customs, and related indirect-tax matters.


• Use internal databases and external market/tax resources to provide accurate technical inputs.


• Keep updated on changes in GST law, Customs regulations, notifications, circulars, and judicial developments.

3. Client & Team Management

• Work closely with client finance/tax teams to resolve compliance requirements.


• Identify issues during data review and escalate them appropriately.


• Collaborate with team members to improve delivery quality and efficiency.


• Develop strong internal relationships across service lines.

4. Knowledge Management

• Regularly update internal knowledge databases with tax and regulatory developments.


• Share technical updates and best practices with the team.


• Build knowledge of different industries and business sectors.


• Contribute content for external events and seminars.

5. Business Development & Brand Building

• Understand the firm's service offerings and identify potential cross-selling opportunities.


• Build an internal network to generate business opportunities.


• Represent the firm's GST and Customs expertise at external forums, seminars, and industry events.


• Develop and maintain a strong professional network within the tax industry.
