We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Professor of Anatomy to join our esteemed medical faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in human anatomy, with expertise in teaching, research, and academic administration. This role requires a dedicated professional who is passionate about medical education, curriculum development, and mentoring future healthcare professionals.
As an Associate Professor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality anatomy education to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, conducting innovative research, and contributing to the academic growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching and Academic Delivery
Conduct lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in human anatomy, covering gross anatomy, histology, embryology, and neuroanatomy.
Utilize modern teaching methodologies, including digital tools, models, and cadaveric dissection, to enhance student learning.
Supervise and mentor students in academic and research projects.
Participate actively in the design, development, and continuous improvement of the anatomy curriculum.
Assess student performance through examinations, assignments, and viva voce, ensuring fairness and academic rigor.
2. Research and Publications
Conduct independent and collaborative research in the field of human anatomy and related biomedical sciences.
Publish research findings in reputed national and international journals.
Seek and manage research grants and projects aligned with institutional objectives.
Guide postgraduate students and interns in research methodology and scientific writing.
3. Departmental and Institutional Contribution
Collaborate with other faculty members to develop interdisciplinary learning modules.
Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and faculty development programs.
Contribute to accreditation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Assist in the organization of workshops, seminars, and conferences in anatomy and allied medical sciences.
4. Student Mentorship and Development
Provide academic counseling and mentorship to students for career and research guidance.
Encourage ethical research practices, critical thinking, and continuous learning.
Skills and Competencies
Deep understanding of human anatomy, including gross, microscopic, and developmental anatomy.
Proficiency in cadaveric dissection and the use of anatomical models, histological slides, and modern imaging techniques.
Strong ability to integrate anatomy knowledge with clinical applications.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and engage students through interactive teaching methods.
Research aptitude with experience in data analysis, publication, and scientific writing.
Organizational and time-management skills to handle teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities effectively.
Qualifications
MD / MS / M.Sc. in Anatomy from a recognized university.
Minimum 4 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor or equivalent in a recognized medical college or university.
Evidence of scholarly work such as published research papers, conference presentations, or academic contributions in the field of human anatomy.
