The Associate/Sr. Associate, Academics & Curriculum Development will be crucial in supporting the creation, testing, and documentation of the organization's skill-integrated, NEP-aligned learning framework. This role involves working directly with teachers, field teams, and artisans to pilot new learning experiences and refine educational materials based on classroom feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum, Resources, and TLM Design:
Design Support: Assist in developing Learning Outcomes, Teacher and Student Workbooks, lesson plans, and teaching-learning materials (TLMs) aligned with the new skill-integrated, NEP-based framework.
Integration: Co-design the seamless integration of rural skills, crafts, and indigenous knowledge into mainstream subjects.
Refinement: Collaborate with teachers and field teams to pilot, observe, and refine materials based on feedback gathered directly from the classroom.
Content Creation: Contribute to content writing, layout, and visual design to ensure all materials are engaging, inclusive, and contextually relevant.
2. Assessment, M&E, and Data Systems:
Support the design of simple, classroom-based assessments that track both academic and skill-based learning outcomes.
Collect and organize student learning data and teacher feedback from pilot sites.
3. Teacher Support & Capacity Building:
Contribute to the design and facilitation of teacher workshops and professional learning sessions.
Peer review and offer support to teachers during implementation; document rich field experiences and classroom insights.
Help develop a central repository of teacher resources and effective practices.
4. Research and Internal Team Learning & Development:
Conduct background research and field documentation on local knowledge systems and pedagogies.
Support internal team learning sessions by sharing synthesized field insights and key lessons.
Professional Experience & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree and relevant certifications or fellowships.
Experience:2+ years of experience, including direct teaching experience with subject matter expertise in 2 or more of the following: Math, Science, Social Science, and Languages.
Skills (Essential):
Minimum 1-3 years of teaching and/or curriculum design experience, preferably in government or NGO education contexts.
Proficiency in experiential learning, lesson planning, learning objective orientation, and assessment design.
Experience in teacher capacity building or professional development.
Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills in English.
Comfort with digital tools (Google Suite, Excel, Canva, data visualization tools, etc.).
