Automation Engineer

Job Summary

The Automation Engineer designs, builds, and deploys intelligent automation solutions and AI-powered agents that streamline business processes, reduce manual effort, and accelerate operational efficiency across the enterprise. This role combines strong Python development skills with hands-on experience in agentic AI—building autonomous systems that can reason, plan, execute multi-step tasks, and integrate with enterprise platforms.

Working closely with AI, BI, Engineering, Operations, and business teams, this role identifies automation opportunities, develops scalable solutions, and ensures reliable, production-grade deployment.

Reporting to the Director of AI & Data Strategy, this is a hands-on technical role focused on delivering measurable business impact through intelligent automation aligned with the enterprise-wide technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions to streamline workflows across Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance.

- Build and deploy agentic AI solutions that can reason, plan, and execute multi-step tasks with minimal human intervention.

- Develop and maintain integrations between automation platforms and enterprise systems.

- Create ETL processes and data pipelines to support automation workflows while ensuring data quality and consistency.

- Collaborate with BI and Data Architecture teams to leverage governed and reliable data sources in automated solutions.

Core Competencies :

- Experience with development and scripting technologies such as Python, C#, .NET, PowerShell, JavaScript, TypeScript, and JSON.

- Hands-on experience with middleware and automation platforms including Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Function Apps, and Workato.

- Familiarity with modern data platforms and databases, including Azure SQL Server, Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse, SQL, and Semantic Models.

- Experience with Microsoft AI technologies such as Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry.

- Knowledge of Agentic AI, LLM integration, prompt engineering, and RAG.

- Experience in API development, enterprise integrations, process automation, workflow optimization, and ETL/data pipeline development.

Education/Work Experience Requirements :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- 3+ years of Python development experience in automation, scripting, or backend engineering.

- Hands-on experience building AI agents using LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and frameworks suchs as Copilot, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, or N8N.

- Experience integrating automation solutions with enterprise platforms (ERP, CRM, eCommerce, PIM, and SQL-based systems).

- Proficiency in SQL for data querying, transformation, and pipeline development.

- Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.

- Strong knowledge of software development best practices, including Git, testing, and CI/CD.
