Automation Engineer

Role Objective

We are seeking a detail-oriented Automation /
Documentation Engineer with experience in developing and maintaining
operational documentation, infrastructure automation artifacts, and
standardized deployment processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on
experience creating runbooks, change templates, validation scripts, and
supporting Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) initiatives. This role requires
strong documentation, scripting, and collaboration skills to improve
operational efficiency, consistency, and automation across engineering teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop,
  maintain, and update operational runbooks, standard operating procedures
  (SOPs), and technical documentation.
  
• Create
  and manage standardized change templates to support infrastructure and
  platform change management processes.
  
• Develop
  and maintain validation scripts to verify deployment readiness,
  configuration accuracy, and operational health.
  
• Provide
  support for Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations,
  including documentation, validation, and operational assistance.
  
• Collaborate
  with platform, cloud, and DevOps teams to standardize operational
  workflows and automation practices.
  
• Ensure
  documentation remains accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with
  infrastructure and application changes.
  
• Assist
  in improving operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for
  automation and process optimization.
  
• Participate
  in deployment planning, change reviews, and post-implementation validation
  activities.
  
• Maintain
  version control for documentation, scripts, and automation artifacts.
  
• Support
  knowledge-sharing initiatives by creating clear and comprehensive
  technical documentation for internal teams.
  

Requirements

Primary Skillsets

• Runbooks: Experience creating, maintaining, and improving operational runbooks for
  infrastructure, platform, and production support activities.
  
• Change
  Templates: Hands-on experience developing standardized change
  templates to support structured and compliant change management processes.
  
• Validation
  Scripts: Ability to create and maintain validation scripts to verify
  infrastructure deployments, configurations, and operational readiness.
  
• Terraform
  Support: Familiarity with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code,
  including supporting deployments, validating configurations, and
  maintaining related documentation.
  

Secondary Skillsets

• Experience
  with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python is an
  advantage.
  
• Familiarity
  with version control systems such as Git.
  
• Understanding
  of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation practices.
  
• Exposure
  to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and DevOps methodologies is
  desirable.
  
• Knowledge
  of ITIL processes or change management practices is a plus.
  

Relevant Experience

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in automation engineering, infrastructure
  documentation, DevOps support, or a related role.
  
• Experience
  supporting Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and operational automation
  initiatives.
  
• Strong
  documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional
  attention to detail.
  
• Excellent
  communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with platform,
  cloud, and operations teams.
  
• Relevant
  certifications in cloud technologies, Terraform, or DevOps practices are
  preferred.
