Job Description - Automation Sales Engineer

This role is for one of Weekday’s clients
Min Experience: 1 year
Location: Delhi NCR
JobType: full-time

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Automation Sales Engineer with strong exposure to industrial automation solutions, particularly in PLC, SCADA, and HMI. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth across the automotive sector, working closely with OEMs, end users, and system integrators. You will play a key role in planning and executing sales strategies while building strong customer relationships and delivering value-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
  1. Develop and execute aggressive sales plans to achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  2. Prepare and implement strategic sales forecasts in line with the company’s business goals.
  • Account Management:
  1. Create account plans for key customers and execute engagement strategies accordingly.
  2. Maintain healthy relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling automation products and solutions.
  • Customer Acquisition:
  1. Identify, qualify, and convert potential customers in OEM, SPM, and end-user segments.
  2. Respond quickly to customer inquiries, solution requests, and technical consultations.
  • Industry Engagement:
  1. Drive sales efforts in the automotive sector, offering end-to-end automation solutions.
  2. Maintain constant engagement with stakeholders across technical, purchase, and management levels.
  • Collaboration & Coordination:
  1. Collaborate internally with engineering, project management, and service teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  2. Work closely with horizontal teams to identify and develop new application-based solutions.
  • Partner Development:
  1. Foster and manage partnerships with System Integrators (SIs) and Channel Partners to increase reach and efficiency.
  2. Provide necessary training, demos, and technical support to enhance partner capabilities.
  • Territory Management:
  1. Cover an assigned territory in and around Haryana, with regular client visits and proactive follow-ups.
  2. Develop action plans and track performance for the assigned geographical region.
  • Market & Competitor Intelligence:
  1. Conduct regular market research to track competitor offerings and emerging technologies.
  2. Provide feedback to the product and marketing teams on customer expectations and market trends.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience in Automation Sales
  • Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial control systems
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience working with OEMs, SPMs, or end-users in the automotive industry is highly desirable
  • Strong customer orientation with problem-solving attitude
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 150–200 km)

Desirable Attributes:

  • Familiarity with automotive manufacturing environments
  • Ability to independently manage sales targets and pipelines
  • Proficiency in using CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated, with a passion for technology and customer engagement
