AVP - BD (Renewable)

About the opportunity

We are hiring an Associate Vice President – Business Development for a PE-backed, one of India's leading renewable energy platforms with a strong and growing presence across solar, wind, hybrid, and BESS projects. The organization has an ambitious capacity target and is scaling rapidly across key geographies in India. This is a high-impact origination role for a seasoned BD leader who can own the full deal cycle and drive long-term C&I power offtake agreements — with a particular focus on the fast-growing data center and hyperscaler segment.

 

Key responsibilities

C&I origination & pipeline building

• Own and deliver MW booking and revenue targets aligned to the company's aggressive growth plan


• Build a strong pipeline with hyperscale and colocation data centres seeking reliable, large-scale renewable power solutions


• Develop market opportunities across key focus geographies and industrial clusters

Deal structuring & closures

• Lead end-to-end transaction lifecycle from origination through to PPA closure


• Structure commercially viable solutions across various open access and captive arrangements


• Collaborate with internal legal, finance, and risk teams to ensure bankable agreements

Customer & stakeholder engagement

• Build and manage senior relationships with CXOs, procurement heads, and energy managers


• Engage large energy consumers and drive long-term renewable energy partnerships

Market intelligence & sales governance

• Track regulatory developments, pricing trends, and competitive landscape


• Maintain strong pipeline discipline, forecasting, and conversion metrics

Ideal candidate

• 12–15+ years in B2B sales, origination, or business development with large enterprise deal closures


• Background in renewable energy C&I preferred; strong enterprise energy procurement experience also welcome


• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to manage complex, long-gestation deals
